Hello, First Time Mom's to be!

Before our last FTM/BTDT-M Play Date, it was suggested that we try to focus our questions a little, in order to make it easier for our BTDT moms to answer our inquiries.  So, this thread is just an attempt to get an idea at what kind of things we might want to ask (or topics to focus on) for our next thread this Thursday.

Ideally, we'll have about 3 questions, with 1 for each trimester of FTM's - since we've got ladies from all different stages in our fabulous little meet up. 

So, any ideas for the next Play Date questions?  Please post your questions/topics here, and include your Trimester - especially if the question is tri-specific.

Thanks for setting this up!! I've been wanting to ask about sleeping arrangements for a newborn. Lucie's list and Baby Bargains suggest that bassinets and such are a waste of money. One of them suggested a PNP with bassinet feature for the first several weeks before transitioning to the crib. I'm just curious what the BTDT moms have done and how it worked for them.

Fourthing(?) @pbgle and adding (2nd tri question): if you had a registry, when did you have it completed? On one hand, 17 more weeks seems like a long time still and on the other hand.... <17 more weeks!? Aaaa!

What kind of questions or things should I be focusing on when looking at daycare facilities? We visited a two over a months ago and I found myself completely overwhelmed and underprepared during the visits.
I know I need to go check out others and likely revisit the first two, but I want to know what I'm doing and looking for this time.

Mine is really specific to the end of 3rd tri so feel free to discard!  But I'd love to know when the moms went into labor, and what their internal exams showed prior to that (if they had them)- i.e. had they started to dilate/efface in advance, any BH or "practice" contractions, no dilation or signs of labor until contractions started or water broke, etc?

I also fifth(?) @pblge 's question. With the addition of that we have a very small home, like less than 800 sq ft. and we were wondering if we could use the bassinet or like a pack n play which isn't as large as a crib for awhile. We really don't have the room for a full nursery.

Maybe not exactly the same question, but I asked something similar in the 10/17 Play Date.

Specifically,

"BTDT Moms - Did you taking any courses on childbirth or child care?  If so, what do you recommend, and what do you wish you had skipped?"

3rd trimester question:
Kind of going off of @pblge‌ 's question at what age did their LO's start to sleep longer throughout the night and was there any techniques that any of the ladies found helpful when it came to getting their LOs to sleep better?

Also, how do you acclimate your furry child/children to your new human addition(s)? Anything that should or shouldn't be done?

Also curious about the best sleeping arrangements and items to minimize baby gear! Are you suppose to use the same bed arrangement for both naps and nighttime or separate the two so the baby knows the difference? (does that question make sense?)

Also, did you only use/buy a crib mattress for the crib and when did you start to transition into the crib?

Alittle late to the party but I really wanted more info on labor & having a doula. Did you like your doula (if you had one)? How painful are contractions - could use that scale of 1 to 10? What birthing technique did you use to ease the pain?
