I'm starting Clomid this cycle, and I know it can really dry things up-- at least that's what I've read. I thought about purchasing Preseed, but had read online that you could use actual egg whites and it would work similarly to the EWCM your body naturally produces. If so, I'm willing to try it. It just sounds ridiculous, honestly. Have any of you ever tried it? Or know anything definitive about how well sperm can travel in it?
Preseed. It's the only fertility safe lube. It won't kill sperm, and it mimics EWCM. It is a little expensive but a little bit of it goes a long way. You can find it in the family planning section of stores or on Amazon.
Another thing: unless you really need to, I would suggest not using the applicators the PreSeed comes with. From what I've heard, using the suggested "dosage" via the applicators will turn your lady bits into somewhat of a slip 'n' slide! Of course, you can experiment with it and figure out how much and which application method works best for you!
I just tried preseed and it gave me an awful yeast infection 2 months in a row. I read that this can be common for some women. I won't touch it now. Even so, I wouldn't even think about real eggs.
Firstly, thank you to those who replied to my question. As I said earlier, I'll skip the egg whites and go buy some Preseed. Secondly, yes, I am with an OB. But my post has nothing to do with that? Also, I wasn't asking anything about Clomid, and I especially wasn't asking anyone to "kiss my ass." I'm not sure why that reply was even posted in this thread about lube?
I'll contact a local RE and make an appointment. I haven't started the Comid yet (still waiting for Provera to work), so unless I have it prescribed by an RE, I won't be taking it at all. Thanks, again, for the advice.
There is a lot going on in this thread but I just wanted to mention that Preseed seems expensive, but I've used the same tube for the last six cycles and we're not even close to running out. It definitely isn't worth using egg whites as lube. What is Preseed, like 14 dollars?

Where have you been? I've missed you! I hope you're doing well!
I took a mental health break. I was kind of getting down about my crazy cycles. But I just had my pap and my OB was very reassuring and the next day I ovulated on CD 13 as opposed to the 30+ days it was taking. So I'm back! Ready to start post whoring again. So sweet of you to notice. I've missed you too!

@walters38 I don't know anything about Clomid, but we have been using coconut oil in addition to the Preseed injectors. Coconut oil is sperm-safe and helps protect from UTIs as well. We've been using it for over a year, even before TTC and I actually like it better than most of the lubes we have tried.
I won't lie, the idea of egg whites freak me out a little bit though. But I'm sure others think coconut oil is weird. To each their own.

No worries - you got it half right! When we say that, we mean to look it up so that you can read the replies that people had to that question in the past. Just look googling information, or looking it up in a book. You're using it for your own reference.
Edited to add: Just saw some of her other posts. If I just replied to a troll... sorry for keeping this one alive. =/ This is what I get for not being here for a week.

Don't think I'd use eggs..... it sounds like a recipe for disaster (pun intended). Maybe yall should buy some Preseed.
Andalso this is such an OLD thread. It's rude to necro bump.
