Hey guys! So I'm a moron and don't have any clue how y'all are getting those numbers and beta tests. Is it because you were under medical care? I am so paranoid with this pregnancy, I would love to have tests done to calm me the f*** down.
My tests were done to check progesterone because of past miscarriage and increasingly odd post-ovulation spotting. With the first test the lab made an error and ran hcg, so my doctor gave me the option for the 48hr check on those.
I promise you, it hasn't done much to calm me the f*** down I was much more calm with my first pregnancy, lol.

@NoeliaV Thank you for the background! I am really clueless. My DD came with a ton of m/s so I always felt pregnant. Now I'm just tired and emotional... And hungry for Doritos.
My tests are because I went through IVF and I'm seeing an Reproductive Endocrinologist. I haven't been released to a regular OB yet. Honestly all the early testing has just made me more anxious and I wish I wasn't having it.
@sunshine1810 I guess the grass is always greener. I feel lost because I don't feel like I used to when I was pregnant with DD. Kaiser basically told me to STFU and read its website. So here I am clueless as f***.

...and now I'm hungry for Doritos. THANKS A LOT.

@GASuzuki, I think the grass is always greener unfortunately! A few of my friends have said they had a completely different pregnancy the 2nd time around then they did the first. Hopefully it's just normal!

God, I hope so. I feel like a completely paranoid person. But I hope we are both here in 2nd Tri laughing about how crazy I was!
@GASuzuki, I have Kaiser, too. Since I had a chemical pregnancy last month, they had me come in for beta testing. I had two blood tests, they saw that the numbers were normal and doubling and that was that. I think they only order the tests if there is a history of miscarrying or, as in my case, I *just* had a miscarriage. I really think they weren't sure I was pregnant again when I called to schedule my first appointment and they probably wouldn't have ordered the tests otherwise.

@effthisnoise Thank you for the feedback. I was wondering wtf they were doing with me. This makes total sense. I'm glad you're here on this board! (For many reasons!)
Everyone else has answered your questions. Try to relax & be happy you don't have to go through it, it definitely doesn't help you "calm the f*** down!" lol.
Agree with PPs. Betas CAUSE anxiety. They don't do a whole lot to ease them. I've had great betas in the past and still miscarried, so they are only one hurdle out of many for those of us with a history of loss, infertility, or high risk.
Also, we can say FUCK on this board. No need for F***!
