Thankful Thursday

I have had a pretty crappy past week or two and I really need to change my perspective and start being thankful for the little things.  Today, I am thankful that LO has such a wonderful GI doctor.  She is so encouraging and told me that I was doing a great job... it was exactly what I needed to hear.

Thankful today for my wonderful DH who has been nothing but patient with me while I'm a big whiny baby with a clogged duct.

Thankful for this Tori Spelling Lifetime movie that I'm watching on between feeding and changing LO. Small joys.

I'm thankful for my job, because even though my boss sucks and I don't wantoto go back, I've had a lengthly maternity leave and am able to change my schedule to help with daycare issues.

I'm thankful for DH, who has been my rock since we started TTC amd through all of the emotions of new motherhood.

And my family, who love LO so kuch and are always willing to help any way they can.

I'm thankful for my FIL who watched K while I took a shower then finished putting up the shelves in the nursery since I haven't found time with a clingy baby who's been on nap strike.
And I'm thankful for K's sweet smile which melts me every time.

I'm thankful that LO is finally napping consistently during the day. I get some time to eat, have a coffee, or just stare at his cute little face. More importantly, I know it means he is starting to feel better with his reflux/intolerances and won't be up all evening screaming. He is a happier baby, even though we don't have all the answers yet.

I am thankful for the amazing 5 or 6 women who I have gotten to know at moms group. They split up the big group into smaller groups of people who live near each other for part of the meetings and I feel like these women get it. I've laughed, shared pain, cried, shared prayers and been made to feel like I'm not messing it all up. I'm thankful that for 2 hours twice a month I get to let go of my "everything is great, I've got this" front and just be with someone who has been there. I almost never went back after the first meeting, but I'm glad I did since I don't have any mommy friends.

I am thankful for my husbands faith in me. I don't always feel like I have this under control, and I often think I'm messing it all up and am so stressed by the end of the day. he keeps reminding me that I'm doing great, and takes LO when he can to help me out. Without him I would have dropped my classes this fall and probably have been on the floor crying daily with LO. When I can't go on or be strong with finances, or Zach's health, or my own health...he carries us through. We fight, and he certainly gets on my last nerve but he is a pretty good husband.

Nonsense, @JmeJoLee83‌! A good cheesy movie while relaxing with the LO is something to be thankful for I've been trying to enjoy the little moments, too.

Tonight I lurked on my old stomping grounds, the infertility board. I spent a good chunk of tonight crying for old friends who still have yet to receive their BFPs. Some of them are 3+ cycles into IVF and I can't imagine the hopelessness that they must feel. And yet... they keep going. After every negative test and every broken dream, they find it within themselves to dust it off and try one more time. It breaks my heart what a cruel bitch infertility is.

So, to say I am eternally grateful for my two healthy, happy and wonderful baby girls sleeping in the other room is an understatement. As cheesy as it sounds, every morning I stand over their cribs and just pray for them. I thank God every day for bringing them into my life and letting me be their mother.

On that note, I'm going to go listen to them breath and talk in their sleep now! Tonight I'll probably have a bit more patience when they wake us up 7 times in a row

I'm thankful for the amazing opportunity I was afforded this past Sunday- I was asked to be in the delivery room of a dear friend during the delivery of her first child. Even more, I was asked to document the day from behind the lens of the camera!! It was an absolutely beautiful experience from beginning to end, and I am so in awe of what the female body can do. I'm a momma of three, but there was something really special about documenting this momentous occasion for someone else. My heart was bursting with joy!

I am thankful for my H. Even when I question myself and our life decisions or decisions regarding Macklyn he remains solid and reassuring and I love that confidence he has. 

Although I am overwhelmed by it and just want some downtime, I am thankful that we have so many friends and family that want to see us and spend time. It's easy to get annoyed and shoot people down, in two weekends I have 3 out of town friends coming to visit us and I am lucky that they even want to and that they want to get to know babe. I know that if we didn't have that I would probably be sad about it.

I am so thankful for coffee and delicious creamer. I dont know why it cheers me up so much. It's just very comforting.

Thankful babe's sleep has been getting a bit better these past few days! She's da best.
