Lip ties??

can someone please help me understand exactly what a lip tie is and if there's a normal lip tie and one that's not normal? Bc I have a flap of skin connecting my upper lip to my gum n I wasn't sure if that was a lip tie and if it meant my daughter would have it too. I'm trying to google n it's not working out for me.

A Lip Tie is a Labial Frenum.  Everyone has one, just some are tighter than others which can cause problems with breastfeeding, speech, etc.

FWIW My husband and I don't have them, but our daughter had a tongue tie. No big deal to get it corrected. Wish we had done it sooner. Good luck!
