Car seat for on an air plane.

I’m looking for some advice for a car seat to use on an air plane. A few weeks ago we went to target and purchased a car seat that is approved for use on a plane for a trip we are taking in December.  Well I have now found out that the plane seat only fits car seats up to 16 inches wide and ours is 17.5. Has anyone purchased a car seat for on a plane that they would recommend?

    I would ask on the carseat.org forum for suggestions.

    I have the cheapest and inexpensive Graco Snugride for my twin girls.

    Flown 4 times with them already and used the carseat without issue.
