Infertility

***lovemymonkey***

Just saw your response to the "how long to conceive" post on the PL board. Can I just say how painful it is to read that these women got pg after only a month or two of "trying"?!? I'm so glad you responded to that post too so they can see how hard it is for some people.

  • hey lisa-

I was totally going to post the same thing to you! :-)  There should be a M/PL board for TTTCers. The girls on M/PL are so sweet, but we're in such a different boat then they are. I know loss is painful regardless of your situation, but they are all just waiting for the next BFP to stick whereas I'm wondering if I'll ever have another BFP at all.

I was surprised to see some of the responses... so many of them got pregnant without really trying or within 3 months of trying. It's sick, but I envy them that they got pregnant so easily, even though they suffered a loss. :-(

  • I totally get everything you're saying! I feel horrible for anyone who has a loss, but they still have an "innocence" about getting pg that we have lost.

I'm hoping that we WILL get BFPs next time and that they WILL stick!

    What is your next step?

  • re: innocence... you hit the nail on the head. They're not thinking "if" I get pregnant again, they're thinking "when" I get pregnant again. I wish I were still that hopeful. *sigh*

I had my follow-up beta this morning and it came back at 278, so I still have a ways to go before it comes down to zero. I go in next Monday.

I did start bleeding though. It's mostly dark and just a little heavier than spotting... not sure if it's going to get heavier or not.

While I was at the RE office getting my b/w, I poked my head into my RE's office and he was there so we chatted a little. He said he asked for a chromosomal analysis on my D&C tissue so we should get those results in a couple of weeks, but he said there are two possibile outcomes, (1) results come back with a chromosomal issue that will explain the m/c or (2) results will come back with no chromosomal issue which only rules out the handful of issues they test for, but doesn't rule out a chromosomal issue. Gee, that's so helpful. Huh?

He said we could give it a couple more cycles, but then we really have to talk about stopping. Crying He told me to make an appointment to see him soon so we can really sit down and talk, so I'm scheduled to meet him next Tuesday.

DH also signed us up for an adoption information seminar this Saturday! Surprise I've brought up adoption several times and DH has always responded,"maybe for #2" so I was shocked when he told me he's been researching adoption! He's actually spoken to two social workers about adopting from Korea (we're Korean) and he's been gathering info.

I'm excited to learn more about it, but not quite ready to give up on having a bio child either. I'm hoping we go to the adoption seminar and it either feels really right and I feel at peace with it, or we go and we realize we're not ready for it yet. I figure it won't hurt to go and see what it's about though.
