Hi ladies! I used to chat on these boards long long ago.  I'm 36. (Will be 37 in November).  My son will be 6 in December. He was a natural baby but we had several rounds of fertility treatments prior to him.  (PCOS).  My daughter will be 2 in a couple of weeks, the day before Halloween. (she was a clomid baby).   I had 2 very early miscarriages prior to our son being born.  I had a late loss at 20 weeks (09/02/2011) after my son.  I then had another early miscarriage after our late loss.  My husband is 33 and he has some genetic stuff going on in his family.  (amyloidosis).  He was really against having a third child and I have had the baby bug BAD.  Because my baby is almost 2 and everyone around me is pregnant!  But I had pretty much accepted that we would stop at 2.  Last week I felt really off.  I had horrible heartburn and I never ever get heartburn.  I had a headache for like 4 straight days.  I was 2 days late.  I've been late before and I've tested before and it's always always negative. So I bought the test without really thinking about it.  I took it.. tossed it up on the bathroom counter.. walked away and started dinner for the kids. My husband works late so he wasn't home yet.  I went back in to check like 20 minutes later.  To my surprise, there's 2 lines!  I swear I almost had a heart attack.  I never get pregnant easily and I was not expecting this AT ALL. 

I am thrilled.  My husband, who I thought would not be so thrilled, is also thrilled. I am a giant ball of nerves!  Becuase of my late loss, I had mekena injections every week from week 17 to week 37 with my daughter. We don't really know why my water broke with our late loss but we think that my cervix started to open and the bag of water slipped through.  So the injections were to prevent that from happening. As soon as the injections stopped, I went into labor just shy of 38 weeks.  I have a nurse call tomorrow and a visit with the high risk doctor after that.  I'm really nervous about having all this on top of being 36.  I have no idea what additional testing or monitoring they do for advanced maternal age.

Sorry about your losses, particularly the late loss.

Welcome to the board and congratulations  It's great that your H is on board too.

I'm a FTM so I'll let the more experienced moms fill you in on additional testing.  So far, I've requested NIPT.  I don't know what else is unusual for AMA.

I too am surprisingly expecting after loads of IF treatments and years of trying without success and intervention.  I'm glad your DH is happy too it makes this so much easier to have support.  I just had the NT test when I was PG at 36 but that was a few years ago. Did the same this PG and now I have weekly NST since about week 32 but it's because I'm 40.

Congrats! and welcome.  I have a surprise blessing as well.  So glad to hear your hubby is thrilled.  Mine is over the moon and it's fun to see him so happy.  Wishing you a healthy and happy 9 months!

Congrats and welcome ! I just had nt scan and harmony test(DNA blood test) and anatomy scan..

Congrats and welcome back!   I'm a FTM and will be 38 when baby is born, I thought I'd be high risk, but so far everything has been normal, we did a few extra ultrasounds early on, but once everything looked good, they've just been seeing me every 4 weeks like normal. I did the Mat21 test and anatomy scan will be next week.  Good luck!
