I'm 19 and pregnant with my first (due April 16th) and my doctor recommended i get the 12 week scan. the place I usually go to doesn't do them, I was wondering where the cheapest place around midland/forrestfield area, me and my partner are struggling with money as it is, if it's too expensive would it be selfish to not get this scan?
thankyou both, it is the NT scan but she said I should just in case there's no birth defects in my family and I'm at low risk. I think I might just take a pass on this one, I'm not insured and I've been told it's quite expensive thanks again
You don't have to have the NT scan. I haven't had it with either of my pregnancies. Usually when you fill out your initial paperwork it asks about family health history and based on that, I think a doctor would recommend the scan or you can elect to have it. Insurance doesn't always cover it and it can be expensive. If you don't need to have it, I would skip it and wait until your anatomy scan.
