My friend made hamburgers and it was dark outside so I couldn't tell how it was cooked. I don't know why I didn't think to do it before, but I noticed when I took my plate inside and now I can't stop worrying about it. I am usually really good about checking before. I'm just wondering if everyone follows the well done steak rule and if I will be ok this one time!! Opinions?
I ate 1/4 pound of rare burger around 10 weeks pregnant (it was definitely an accident). I'm fine and the baby's fine, too. Eating rare hamburger doesn't *guarantee* illness, but it's definitely not advisable whether you're pregnant or not. Just try to be more careful in the future. If you're not sick 24 hours after consumption the meat was safe and you'll be just fine.
