TTC After a Loss

Healthy Living Check-In

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
We are a group of women striving to live healthier lives, whether that means losing weight, gaining weight, sticking to a specific diet, counting calories, avoiding counting calories, starting to exercise, continuing to exercise or anything in between.
We check in on Mondays and follow up with an accountability on Fridays (our favorite post of the week, because we love encouraging each other and celebrating all our successes!).
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
Many of us are using MyFitnessPal to keep track of our eating and our exercise. MFP is a great tool to keep yourself accountable, and because it is set up as a social network site, we can cheer you on there as well as here. If you are using MFP and have not found us yet, let us know so we can friend you!
Re: Healthy Living Check-In
  • @MrsG80inTN Hey Hey! Thanks for the check-in :D
    @furrypaws Yum! hummus and carrots. That's a good snack choice!
    The Good: Last week was a good week for me. I've discovered a love of snacking on tomatoes and goat cheese. Oddly satisfying and it keeps me away from the bad stuff.
    The Bad: I can't think of anything really bad. We were a household of people with colds for a few days, so we didn't use our bikes for our errands as much last week.
    The Proud: 2 pounds down since last monday!
    Your Plan: I'm going to keep doing what I'm doing! I feel good!
    Question of the week --- What are you reading right now? If you're not reading anything, got any good recommendations? I am actually rereading the Little House books that I recently came across again. As a general recommendation, if you enjoy fantasy or like books about Irish lore, I love the Sevenwaters series by Juliet Marillier. The first book is Daughter of the Forest and love these books so much!
    We met in middle school. We got married 15 years later in a February blizzard of 2010.
  • Hello ladies! Sorry I have to post and run today.
    The Good: I figured out a plan
    The Bad: I never got back at it last week, then got derailed even more with sinuses and a head cold
    The Proud: I am more dedicated to my plan this time
    The Plan: All of the "small" changes I keep re-making each time I do this stop/start crap I am doing all at once. They've been done before and it shouldn't be a hurdle to get back in the habit of them so then I can adjust and change other things.
    The small changes I usually make are tracking food, stop drinking pop, having 8+ glasses of water a day, taking stairs every day. I have accomplished these so many times it shouldn't be anything but the usual. Now I need to start adjusting what I'm eating to drop some calories and then adding exercising. No more excuses! I need to work through to make it habit!
    QOTW: my one friend lent me "If I Stay". I haven't started it yet, but plan to soon. Reading usually helps me relax.
    @Nieko0423 - Good luck sticking to your plan.
    The Good: I'm down a pound from last week.
    The Bad: Nothing terrible, had a piece of cake yesterday, but it was my aunt's birthday and I did eat really good when we went out to eat.
    The Proud: I went to Denny's last night and ordered broccoli with my sandwich instead of french fries. I'm super proud of that! I also finished phase 1 of my EA Sports Active 2 training, now on to phase 2.
    Your Plan: Just keep it up!
    Question of the week --- What are you reading right now? If you're not reading anything, got any good recommendations? I don't have time to read.
    Your Plan: Go on 5 walks, Work out 2 times, and Track food every day
    Question of the week --- What are you reading right now?  If you're not reading anything, got any good recommendations? I just started reading Caroline Manzo's book the other day and I want to read Gone Girl next. I always recommend The Hunger Games trilogy if you haven't read it yet, I almost love it as much as Harry Potter.
  • Hi everyone! Do you have room for one more? I just moved back to the States and am trying to form an exercise habit. (Also trying not to eat everything I see that I couldn't get in South America for the past three years...) Thanks in advance! Hope you all are having a great start to the week.
    The plan: I am going to try to get in more exercise then I have been.
