My DS has his milk when he wakes up, before his nap, and before bed. He is 18 months and he drinks it from a sippy that has a soft spout. He still uses it to be comforted and to help him transition. I still rock before naps and bed so he isn't getting his milk in his crib or anything. I don't see a problem with this but I am just wondering when others give milk at this age.
Re: When during the day do you give your toddler milk?
at that age she was getting it when she first woke up....lunch time and just before bed.
Now she gets it when she wakes up and dinner time....we weaned her from having it just before bedtime. Too much milk constipates her and she gets her calcium in other forms like cheese and yogurt.
My kids get it mid-morning and mid-afternoon. They have always refused to drink it plain though. The only way we can get them to drink it to add chocolate or strawberry syrup. =( The rest of the day, they get watered down apple juice-like 8oz water, 2oz juice in a 10 oz cup sippy cup.
My DD has milk first thing in the morning, after lunch, and after dinner. She LOVES her milk and, literally, drinks it in all one long sip so we give it to her after she finishes eating. She still has about 20 oz a day.
