Today’s follicle scan on day 6 of stims showed “not a whole lot going on.” And it’s never good news when you are expecting the nurse to call and the RE calls. I am canceled. I’m going in on Monday for a follow-up.
In the meantime, I am going to line-up some 2nd opinions. I want to look into Sher in NJ and RMANJ. Which REs do you ladies recommend? Anyone specifically knowledgeable on poor responders?
Re: Canceled: Talk to me about your RE at Sher in NJ or RMANJ
I cycle with SIRM (not NJ) and have consulted with RMANJ. I consulted with Dr. Molinaro at RMANJ. One thing about SIRM (or at least my clinic, I think they use the same protocols though) is that they do batch cycling and use BCP and lupron to line up cycles, being a poor responder I would definitely ask them about what effect this would have on your cycle. I have stayed with SIRM, mostly because they are the only immune friendly "large" clinic in my area (although I recommend going with a RI over testing with SIRM, they only do very basic testing). I also have been very happy with my experience there (staff at my clinic is amazing and I love my new RE, she is very open minded to thinking outside the box for us). I really liked RMANJ as well. The big reason we didn't go with them is the fact that it would require travel and the cost (we were hoping to do one of their studies). The RE I consulted with couldn't disagree more with SIRM's protocols. He advised no BCP or lupron and doing a freeze all with PGD and then a FET with any normal embryos. They are also not very immune friendly if you ever consider looking into immune testing or working with a RI (It can still be done, but they don't really buy into any treatments and won't prescribe the meds).

I consulted with Dr. Peters at SIRM NJ and thought he was GREAT. We ended up doing our cycle with RMA instead though (we wanted the benefit of their super lab). I consulted with Dr. Kim - NOT GOOD. We ended up working with Dr. Molinaro and I thought he was awesome! Too bad it didn't work out for us, but I don't really think it had anything to do with the lab or the doctor in our case.
Sending lots of hugs & you know how to reach me if you want to chat.
