Adoption

Baby arriving Friday!

Our emom has a c-section scheduled for Friday.  We've been matched since she was 4 months pregnant so while we've had plenty of time to bond its also been a very long wait for us.  She is taking pressure from her family to keep the baby but has gone through with adoption before.  She wants us in the delivery room and to cut the cord!  That will be new for us since our two year old was an emergency c-sec and we weren't able to be there.  I'm so excited but also really stressed about the adoption, what to do with our two year old, waiting at the hotel for ICPC and being a mom of two!  Praying for a healthy baby and that everything goes smoothly!

  • bananafuzz - Surviving ICPC in a hotel room with a newborn was not a problem so much as surviving with a two year old was!  We are lucky in that we live near the border so although baby couldn't go across state lines, DH and our two year old were able to spend some time at home.  I'm not sure we would have survived otherwise.  We were in the hotel 8 days waiting for ICPC.  It actually was a good opportunity to bond with baby since I wasn't busy doing laundry, dishes and chasing the two year old around like if I had come right home.  So I think a short ICPC stay is good for everyone.  I actually called our ICPC office after I knew they had the paperwork for two days to hurry them along.  They said we were approved a couple days earlier but someone had a communication breakdown and we never got the call so I'm glad I called them or we would have had to spend another weekend.
