Reuse old bottle and nipples?

I have some bottles that are 4 and a half, almost 5 years old. I used them for only 2.5 months. Should I just buy some new nipples for a newborn? Or buy new bottles and nipples?

Re: Reuse old bottle and nipples?

  • Depends on the bottles condition, but you should be ok sterilizing and reusing them, but would definitely replace the nipples and any other soft parts.

  • agree with PPs, if the bottles don't show any sign of wear, i'd reuse them but get new nipples.

i kept all of DS's old bottles for potential future babies but i threw away all the nipples.

  • My sister gave me her set of bottles when DS was born two years ago. I had to buy new nipples and then I sterilized everything together. They worked great.

  • I just used our 5 yr old bottles for DS2. I sterilized the bottles and bought new nipples and valves (born free brand). Worked perfectly and still using them now with the sippy spout.
  • Thanks, I think I'll just buy some nipples.
