Has anybody bought their kiddo a tablet, if so what did you buy? We were looking at the Leapfrog systems, but I'm thinking maybe just getting a regular tablet, like a Nexus 7. (Thinking ahead for Christmas present.)
She has her own iPad mini, and she loves it. We have apps loaded onto it with games, Netflix, YouTube and we transferred photos on. She is pretty much self sufficient with it, she even chooses her own profile on Netflix. The only thing she asks me to do is find a specific video on YouTube, like Peppa Pig or Sesame Street. She uses it more than any of her other toys. Obviously, I don't really care about expert opinions regarding screen time and early use of technology.
We have a family iPad mini. I don't think I could buy one specifically for a 2 year old. Not because I'm against her using it but it's a lot of money. I will say once my kids have played with an ipad nothing else is as fun.
I would stick with leapfrog system if you want a kids specific device. We bought a cool fisher price one a while ago for DD1 but it was discontinued so we only have a few games. Bit leapfrog seems like a solid popular brand.
She has her own ipad mini. That's only because DH got it free from work, and we already have an iPad. I limit her use, but I find it really helpful for things like long flights.
Re: Tablet for toddlers
DH bought some $40 cheapy tablet that he figures DD can mess up if she wants, but we haven't used it much.

Then we both read the article I linked above and now we may be more careful about introducing her to technology
