Our original intent was to reveal to everyone, including ourselves, during our beach vacation in Florida. I had the doctor give me the gender results in a sealed envelope, but our vacation (and reveal date) was 6 days away and we just couldn't wait that long. Sooo...I drove straight to my husbands job and we opened the envelope together.
Honestly, I wasn't thrilled with any of the reveal ideas based on ME not knowing. Once I knew, then my search ideas opened up and came across the silly string idea. Our family is really silly and goofy, so it was the perfect way to reveal to the family! So ultimately, I was happy I too impatient to find out because it made the reveal much more fun for me and the rest of the clan.
It was super simple to construct. All I did was print red lips (girl) and mustaches (boy), cut them out and hot glued them to dowel rods (you can use skewers too). Everyone chose a side then we took photos with everyone holding up their choices to their lips. Then I gave them all unmarked cans of silly string (dollar store) and on the count of three everyone started spraying the string to discover pink silly string! It was such silly fun, provided AWESOME pictures (see pics) and amazing memories to last a lifetime.
Anyone else have a gender reveal? I'd love to hear about it!
