Weekend plans?

What are you up to this weekend?

We are going to be starting our 'busy season' now thru New Years! 

DD1 starts swim lessons on Saturday and DH is supposed to go to a "goodbye party/keg party" for a guy at work. My guess is he will skip it because it is also our 5 year wedding anniversary. Sunday we are going to the renaissance festival with his work friends (who will all be hungover from the keg party the night before). We also need to find time to get the house cleaned up for visitors next weekend for DD1's birthday.

DH works tomorrow. I'm hoping to sleep in a bit. FX DS decides thats a good idea. I'm fighting off something so I think I'm in need of some rest. I need to clean the house in anticipation for B's party next weekend too and get things in order there.

Sunday I think I'll go grocery shopping and get a few projects done. I hope we can finally get our new railing up on the porch and possibly the ramp to our shed. I'm not holding my breath.

Happy Anniversary @AKB090609! We've got Jasper's bday party Sunday, so tomorrow will be spent making his cake. I'm attempting this (below) so it could be interesting. If that fails, I'll be frantically calling around to get a cake ordered for Sunday haha. Our anniversary is Wednesday, and H just surprised me with a quick trip to Vegas-- we leave Tuesday which I am insanely excited about, but I'll be spending any free minutes trying to get the kids' stuff packed and ready to go.

Tonight we are watching our neighbor's 3 kids. James is so pumped and keeps calling it a party.

Tomorrow we are going to a birthday party.

Sunday we are going to church with my parents and then taking them out to eat that night. My dad is having heart surgery on Wed so we are planning to hang out with them most nights until then.

CLEANING and PANICKING!  Haha

my mom and brother arrive on Friday (yet to determine if my father is coming which is a whole other drama!) and our guest rooms are a mess.  DH has the "office" if you call it that its more of a we put whatever we don't know where to put, lets put in this room kind of place.  you cannot see the floor So lots of work to be done, so my brother has a place to sleep.  

And then there is all of the last minute birthday projects I want to do for his party next Saturday but don't have time for because I have a full time job.  I swear Pintrest is the devil and I always take on way too much - stupid ideas!  Oh well, what gets done gets done.  And the rest gets stuffed in the closet.  

Do not open the closets at my house

Friends of ours that DH and I set up on a blind date are celebrating their 5 year anniversary today. 

We literally have nothing planned this weekend (literally the first free one in MONTHs) and I am stoked about it!!!

Things we may do: loaf around, make homemade pizza and/or pesto, read my back issues of People magazine, go to my nephew's football game, get out more maternity clothes from my bins. Exciting stuff.

Today was Sophia's birthday, and tomorrow is her party.  I'm so not ready yet, but I have until 4pm to get that way.  I'm ridiculously excited about it since we had just moved here a year ago, and didn't have enough friends in town to throw her a party then. 

DH is working on his resume because he just got recommended for the same job opening by multiple coworkers.  It would be the exact job he's been wanting to move into, awesome for career progression, and a raise and great benefits to boot.  I'm really really hoping he gets it.  Man, applying for jobs is night and day different when you're doing it while working a job you love already!  Last time he was unemployed/underemployed for over a year before his current job, so I'm just feeling really blessed.

ETA: I made the "spaghetti and meatball" cupcakes today and they turned out so cute.  Sophia plowed through hers tonight and immediately asked for another one, so I'll consider that a success.

It's "my" weekend with the boys, so after school yesterday we drove up to my parents. We are hanging on to every last bit of summer we can get!

I'm getting my hair done today. I go back to work in two weeks, so I have to get all of these things taken care of! H works today, so after this, it's just me and the kids for the day.

Tomorrow, hopefully I can do nothing. Maybe take a nap. Haha.

DH works weekends so nothing is actually planned

We had Simon's birthday party yesterday (he's 2 today!) so he and Sam are playing with the presents while Sav naps. Sophie slept over at my grandmother's last night so she'll be home probably around dinner.

I have some homework I should probably do but it'll wait until after bedtime.

I started the day with an algebra test. I got 88.89%, so not too bad. Then I went to the dentist and got seven (!!!) fillings. I'm tired and crabby now. Hopefully I can do as little as possible for the rest of the weekend.

It was so hot here yesterday that after 20 minutes at a local block party, we hightailed it home for lunch and popsicles. We actually went to a mall (I hate malls) to escape to some air conditioning, but get out of the house. L played, we shopped, then dinner. Overall, fun. 

Today we were getting DH ready for his business trip. He is in TX for the week. He was irritated that we weren't more upset he was leaving. I am glad for the time alone and think it might be easier to deal with L without him around. I am a terrible person.

Honestly we both say this sometimes. When DH works midnight he's gone by 5:30 so it's me for bedtime. Whenever we're one on one B behaves SO much better than when it's both of us. We're not exactly sure why either. Saturday DH worked days so it was B and I. He was an angel except for one meltdown. Other than that awesome. Sunday DH was off so it was the 3 of us at home. B was kind of a terror. Didn't listen etc. I wouldn't change having DH around for the world but sometimes it really is easier when it's just one on one.
