Needing support. hCG didn't double - advice?

I know I need to speak with my doctor, and the office said he will call me tomorrow... in the meantime, I need to hear from others that know more about hCG levels than me... do you think I should I be legitimately worried right now?

I caught this pregnancy early and went in to the doctor at about 5 weeks. On the ultrasound he did not find the baby, but said it was early and he would do another in a week (which will be this coming Friday). The doctor did not seem worried, and didn't give any indication of a worrisome situation. He had me do bloodwork last Thursday and Saturday (44 hours apart) to make sure that I was progressing. I got the results today: on Thursday at 4 PM they were 172 hCG, and on Saturday at 12 PM they were 192 hCG.

Everyone says the important thing is that the hCG numbers double in 48 hours. Mine are not even close to doubling. What does this indicate??

I had one healthy pregnancy, and haven't had a miscarriage before. Am I miscarrying? Ectopic pregnancy? Really hard to just wait to hear from my doctor tomorrow...

I'm sorry you're in such an uncertain place. You should wait for the doc's call. In the meantime, if you search HCG on the board you'll see lots of similar questions with good answers.

My first HCG reading was on the low end of normal and it made me super anxious. Best of luck!

I'm normally a positive, upbeat person and am feeling very sad, worried, and drained right now.

From the internet research, it looks like I should not be hopeful. Likely an ectopic pregnancy or will be a miscarriage. Small chance I just have low levels- and maybe they have gone up by now.

... I canceled my flight to San Francisco for work tomorrow so I can just go into the doctor and find out one way or another.

I'm sorry you're going through this. HCG numbers can drive us crazy. Try to stay positive and get some kind of sleep before your appt. keep us posted.

I am not going to sugar coat this because it won't help you.  Typically numbers like that do mean a miscarriage is coming.  I really hope this is not the case for you and you are just off to a slow start but I don't want to give you false hope either.  Good luck today, please keep us updated.  I will be thinking about you.
