2nd Trimester

Haven't felt movement at 22wks

I'm 22 weeks and I still haven't felt any movement. He moves around like crazy in the ultrasounds , so I am very happy to know he is healthy but I am getting excited to feel him move! I have marginal previa and an anterior placenta so I know it takes a little longer. Anyone been in this situation? If so, when did you feel movement? Thank you!

Re: Haven't felt movement at 22wks

  • Yep. 24 weeks to feel more than very light flutters. 30 weeks before regular movement was discernible.

  • I'm 30 weeks and just recently started feeling the movement.  People would ask me for the longest time if I feel the baby move, but I had not and started getting worried. But I always heard the heart beat and knew it was healthy. So hang in there.
  • Hi!!  Don't worry!! If it's your first pregnancy, it always takes more time for you to feel anything and there's lots of factors why it may take longer.  I also have an anterior placenta, so it kinda "blocks" the kicks and blows to the tummy and the movement may be a little less until they're really packing those punches.  :)  You should feel something big in the next couple of weeks.  Hang in there.  It's always so encouraging to see the little acrobat in the ultrasound.
  • I am 18 weeks and just had an ultrasound, the doctor told me that the placenta is in front so it will take longer than normal to feel movements and not to worry because the baby is healthy.
  • 19 weeks, still not feeling it :-) they move a lot though....

  • worry not!  I was also anxious to feel LO flutter around...& everyone told me about the 'bubbles' I'd feel.. but NOTHING until week 23, then suddenly it felt like a frog was in there!  Not fluttery at all ha ha, but happy she seems to be training for the olympics & love feeling her swim about!  Hope you feel yours soon & GREAT news that baby is healthy!
  • My first pregnancy I didn't feel movement until 19 or 20 weeks, but this time I started feeling baby girl at 14 weeks (I'm almost 21 weeks now). So many things affect how soon you can feel: first pregnancy, how baby is positioned, your weight, location of placenta.... It'll happen! :)
  • That anterior placenta can be a real bummer!  I had it last time and this time.  Hopefully it won't be much longer before you feel baby!
  • Same here. 22 weeks and haven't felt anything. I had my anatomy scan today and they said I have an anterior placenta so not feeling it yet is totally normal. Baby was bouncin like a ball in there and I couldnt feel it but I saw it on the screen clear as day.
