I am planning a girls vacation and we are looking at Phoenix. I know nothing about the area and could use some insight. We are open to ideas, but are throwing around hiking/shopping/spa as our topics. We are only staying a weekend so it will be just one of these things with lots of wine and snacks at the hotel. Bonus points if we can walk some place to go out at night. We aren't party animals and given that we both have two small children, time to sleep is a huge pleasure
Hallelujah, it's a miracle, I have children AND a signature!
If you are going anytime soon you are NOT going to want to hike. Its still hotter than the hounds of hell.
I have no other advice though, I've only been once and it was with my kids to tag along on H's work trip
Is that how you ended up pregnant again? lol
Hallelujah, it's a miracle, I have children AND a signature!
I love Phoenix, but I agree it is HOT to hike right now. My father-in-law lived in PHX for many years, (he moved north a few years ago) and we used to go every Memorial Day weakend and it was hot then to hike! Look at staying in Scottsdale, great shopping!
I'm a few hours south of there. Yeah it's super hot still and I wouldn't want to hike right now. I agree about staying in Scottsdale. There are a lot of nice resorts there. I would just pick somewhere with an awesome pool- lots have adults only pools- and do pool and spa. Maybe some shopping for a few hours too. Most places will also have a restaurant/bar so you can hang out there at night as well.
Have fun!
All of this. Stay at a nice resort and you will love it. If you want to really party/ dance you can hit old town scottsdale….there is tons of clubs, wine bars ect. You can hike if you go at first sun, I do. Oh and shopping is good if you like that sort of thing. Outlets in Antem or there is a Tanger outlet on the other side of town (I've been told people like to outlet shop in vacation)
We are going in April I think so temps should be better. Right? Is there a great transit system or do you recommend a car/taxi? We are looking at a resort in Phoenix and we aren't big partier's, but a few drinks out w/o kids is always fun
Hallelujah, it's a miracle, I have children AND a signature!
Transit sucks. Definitely have to rent a car. Scottsdale really is your best bet for shopping and restaurants. April can be hot as hades too- it is always a toss up. The majority of the resorts up there are fantastic.
