First appt was at 9 weeks, and it was 160bps. Then it progressively begun lowering to 156, and then the last 3 visits were all consistent at 140bps. I'm now 19w3d with a boy. And my last appt was on Friday, and he was at 141
I asked my doctor many many moons and kids ago about this wive's tale. She responded with when your own heart slows down, are you suddenly a boy? I think its fun to guess too but I think any range between 130-170's are healthy rates to have. I am green team too. Looking forward to January.

My OB has never mentioned the heart rate...just that it was "good." He has never put much of an emphasis on the actual number. When I asked him, he said he's like a conductor who can hear every note and knows when it doesn't sound right. When he started practicing, they simply put a "+" or "-" on the chart for the heart rate and that's what he continues to do. Patients get all wrapped up in a "good number" or worry when it changes, so he tries to de-emphasize it. Ha! I am always just happy to hear that heartbeat at every appointment.
At our 20 week anatomy scan, we were told the heart rate was 136 and we are having a boy by the ultrasound tech.
Both of my MWs have told me it's not the rate, but the sound the heart beating that make them predict boy or girl. I think boy sounds like a galloping horse, can't remember what girl is. So far, this one sounds like a boy. I find out Wednesday if the MW is right!
I did find out, and the MW was right. My baby is a boy, and he had the galloping heart rate. I think he also had the slower heart rates...around 140ish every time.
Congrats on your healthy baby boy and thanks so much for updating!!
Re: For those of you who found out gender what is the baby's Heart Rate?

160+ @ 12weeks - 16weeks.
We're having another girl - her heartrate has always hung out between 140-155. With our 1st (a girl), hers was always much higher - 165-170's.
