Cute Bathing Suit @ 18w?

MissEm15MissEm15 member
edited August 2014 in February 2015 Moms

I'm going to the beach in less than two weeks and have no swim suits that fit (my boobs really, but bump is starting to pop)... any ideas on where to get cute (not matronly) and cheapish swimwear?

TIA!

I need one too. I suspect some kind of tankini is what I'm going to get.

We are doing a hot springs tour of the province in October for our anniversary, so I'm going to need something to bathe in. :)

I have no idea. Last time I wore one (about 2 weeks ago), I just wore an old tankini top and and skirt bottom. I felt super young AND super matronly at the same time. It did cover up my blump nicely though and the tankini top had ruffles and drew the attention up top.

@thegoodpotato‌ I'm totally going to steal your idea! I'll give you credit, though, by signing the card, "love your DW and thegoodpotato".
What province are you in? I'm in AB (but not from here). I always laugh at your name because a best friend from undergrad's nickname was potato (she was from PEI).

I bet swimsuits are pretty cheap now, with end of season sales. I'd try the bay or Nordstroms and then end up at old navy if I couldn't afford any at the bay.

Get a tankini! If you belly pops out a teeny bit no worries. Bonus that you can also wear it after baby as well.

There's a website called Dino direct that had cute maternity suits that can be worn even after LO. It's pretty cheap but all of it ships from China. The bathing suits have lasted me 2 years and I still wear them.

Haha a bathing suit at Future Shop?!!?! My best bet for everything maternity is usually Old Navy, but I've just been rocking my regular underwire bikini this summer.

Just bought a clearance one piece (reg not maternity) in a larger size at Target (end of season sale). It had a little roushing in the tummy so it would stretch a little as needed over the next few weeks. I don't anticipate being in a swing suit after 20 weeks so no thank you to maternity suits!

I have one from Old Navy and wore it 3-4 times/week last pregnancy (swimming laps) and have been wearing it already this time around.  It's one-piece with adjustable straps and I was able to wear it through the 3rd trimester.

I've just had to buy a new one too. Huge mistake bringing OH for advice! But I ended up with a lovely black number from H&M.

I wear a tankini from Target - I like it! Very inexpensive too, although I doubt there are many in stores - you may have to buy online. It was my pre-pregnancy swim suit too. I think I paid $20 for the top.

You could wear it with normal bikini bottoms, but I go the classic mom route and wear board shorts. I don't feel too matronly in the shorts - I wore them pre-pregnancy too. It's just what I'm comfortable in.

If you could get away with not wearing a maternity swimsuit, I always get my cheap swimsuits at Ross or Marshalls. They don't have much of a selection, but what they do have is very inexpensive.

Check out target they have a ton of cheap suits.  Not sure you need maternity just yet. Maybe just a larger or ruched suit.

Thanks everyone! I guess I don't know why I didn't think about just buying a bigger size and rocking a two piece lol I think I just don't feel skinny anymore (duh) so I feel like I need a maternity top or tank to hide me ha.

I just ordered a cute 1-piece on clearance from Target.

DS starts swim lessons on November 1st. I'll be 24 weeks when it starts and 30 weeks by class end. Here's to hoping it fits!

I buy all my swimsuits from www.figleaves.com - I have large breasts and have a hard time finding suits to fit even not pregnant. They have a maternity selection too. Would probably have to choose a shipping option other than ground to get it in 2 weeks though.
