Hello Everyone I am new to this board and wanted to take a moment to introduce myself and tell my story.
Me
I am a 33 year old RN going to school to become a family nurse practitioner. I work in research and education at a local hospital and have a pretty fast paced sometimes very stressful job that I love. I run a non profit, which brings in its own benefits and challenges. I found these boards recently and have been very impressed with the women that I have met.
My story
10 years ago I conceived my daughter. From the moment I found out about her, I was on my own. I had a predominately uneventful pregnancy and she is a happy healthy 9 year old.
5 years ago I met my partner, whom I love and adore. After three years together we conceived, it wasn't planned and we were very excited. We experienced our first loss at approximately 8 weeks. After this loss we both decided that we did want to have another child and we started TTC. This was uneventful for another year and a half. Finally my ob/gyn referred me to an RE and after all the wonderful fertility treatments and me losing 40 lbs we started on clomid 50 mg. The third cycle of this we conceived again. We were cautiously optimistic, following with the RE we had weekly scans which were their own exercise in torture as it quickly became apparent that we weren't growing at the right rate but we kept hopeful. Our second loss occurred at 9 weeks, my husband was in Germany for this one.
So here I am. We both know we want to try again, we haven't talked to the RE about the steps to accomplish this at this point in time. I thought perhaps this board will help me walk down this path again and not feel so alone while doing it. The multiple losses just makes me feel I need to keep this entire journey private to avoid the constant questions, conjectures from family and friends. I'd like to have people who truly understand where I am at and hope that I can support you all during this journey as well.
