Weaning at one year

My LO just turned one but I started the weaning process a few weeks ago. I'm no longer pumping at work or nursing at night but I don't know how to drop the morning session. He goes to bed at 8pm and wakes at 6am to nurse then goes back to sleep for about another hour. Should we just give him a bottle and he may or may not drop that feeding?

I don't care about the one hour but sometimes it's more like two. I guess what I'm concerned about is that if I stop nursing in the morning then he won't go to sleep again and I feel like he needs those two extra hours.
