I think we are starting the transition. When he does take a morning nap, it's at least 1.5 hrs and I wake him up, so I think he still could use it occasionally. He has started skipping the afternoon nap occasionally. But, on days he skips the morning nap, his afternoon nap is the same length as usual (1.5 hrs). I feel like that doesn't make sense!
I've heard that kids usually lengthen the afternoon nap once they're down to one. Did this happen gradually or did they start taking a longer nap right way?
When we went to one nap they turned into 3 hour nap when usually he would only nap for maybe an hour each time. Also the longer nap happened almost right away.
My LO has been doing one 2 hour afternoon nap for the last 3 months. Like PP said about needing more sleep on some days, every once in awhile she'll also take a short morning nap. Her usual time is 12:30-2:30.
Emmett is all over the place. When he was taking 2 naps, they were 1.5-2 hrs each. When we went to 1, the length state the same :-/. Every once in a blue moon he'll take a 3 hr nap, but it's usually closer to 2.
Thanks everyone! I'm thinking we'll be one of the afternoon nappers that stays the same (1.5 hrs). We will see! I'm not 100% convinced he's ready for the transition yet, so we'll see. He's hard to read with that!
