Trying to Get Pregnant

Oh. Snap. BFP!

Cycle/Month: 5

CD/DPO: 30/15

EDD: April 23, 2015

Timing: O-3,-2,-1

What we did: I ate a lot of leafy greens and drank lots of water, and cut out excess sugars. Taking prenatals...really nothing fancy other than that! I did however lay horizontally for a long time, though at that's still up in the air if that works or not I guess ;)

How I told SO: I haven't got to tell him yet, as he works out of state every two weeks. Luckily he gets off tonight though and will be home tomorrow! I've ordered a shirt that says "The Man Behind The BUMP" and the book "The Expectant Father", both will be here tomorrow (thank you, Amazon 1 day shipping). This is our 1st year of marriage (but have been together 5), and every three months I've gotten him a little gift. Thankfully this month is our 9th month so I plan on playing it off as that gift, and he'll get the shirt and book and put two and two together! :) I also plan on secretly filming his reaction!

Symptoms: Sore boobs, but nothing too extreme (yet..). Started on the sides and under armpits, then has now worked it's way around. I've also had tugging/pulling feeling in lower right abdomen, and a few feelings like that on left. But predominately right side so far.

Mushy Stuff: Wow. I learned sooo much in my few months of being on here. I was kinda the quiet stand by, but I read many, many of your posts, celebrated with you, took advice and tips, and gained more info on this process from you all than I had before. It was so comforting knowing I was not alone! Praying for you all still trying and sending loads and loads of luck and positive vibes. :)

Testing: First Response, as soon as I was done peeing on it, the second line immediately was turning pink! I about fell off the toilet. Btw, that was this morning...I'm a kindergarten teacher, and today was also the first day of school!!! One I'll never forget!! My mind was a crazy, all over the place mess today. Lol

I attached a pic, for those who want to see!

  • CONGRATS to you and your hubby.

Please don't let people being rude ruin your happiness. Despite you haven't posted anything, you may have been the silent type, you should be allowed to share your exciting news.

Good thing I've realized early on that the TTGP board is NOT the place to be.
    And yet you're here

Ah, yet here you are, by some wrinkle in time!

Also, of course, she's welcome to share - all others are welcome to share their thoughts too!

See that's what I don't get. So you prefer to just read the posts, instead of writing your own. That's fine. But then why make an announcement to people when you've never bothered to share anything else about yourself? It's honestly confusing to me.

I jumped on a couple of discussions yesterday. I've been here for a week. I didn't do an "intro" because frankly, I don't think it's necessary. I am just starting to chart and we aren't actively trying until next month. So yes, I am "lurking" to learn things because I'll admit, I didn't know shit about TTC.

That still doesn't explain why someone would chose to lurk instead of participating, yet still create a post making an announcement about themselves. If you're (and I mean "you" in general) too shy/busy/uninterested to jump in discussions, why would you assume people would be interested in your positive pregnancy test? That's what don't get. If someone just wants congratulations and well wishes, they could get that from the 1st trimester board. Although why someone would seek congratulations from complete strangers online is also weird to me. I just don't understand the thought process behind creating a post to announce a pregnancy to a group of women you've never interacted with and might not be interacting with in the future.

  • @Laurenlou83  you don't have the power to ruin a post.  I understand being sensitive I can be overly sensitive as well.  I have also had two or three posts where I made a statement and got a little flack/questioning of my stance.  Rightly so in those instances, and that is how it works here.  If someone asks a ridiculous question or makes an erroneous statement they are called on it.  Go ahead and lurk if you choose just understand most of the boards on thebump have a similar attitude.
  • Congratulations!!  Thanks for all the info the info that might be helpful for the rest of us!!!  Isn't it funny how some people will do anything to try to take away others' happiness?  Luckily the majority of us left that at high school graduation!  Best wishes for a happy and healthy LO!!  Enjoy telling DH!! Great idea to video it!  :-)
  • Congratulations to you! So exciting!! :)
  • You people are freaking nuts! OP, congratulations!!!!!! Sorry these crazies have bashed you for GOD FORBID posting on the wrong board! Make sure you read over that Bumb handbook that was mailed out to everyone!
  • And my favorite part of the process:  When they hyenas lock on to new prey!!  Go ahead girls.  Keep going; show your colors!  :-)
