Yeah, usually you have to have a board vote on who you would like for mod... it's usually done a little closer to 2nd tri so you all have a chance to get to know everyone before you decide. 

Someone has to start a thread for nominations - then after those are complete, there will be a poll to "officially" designate a mod.
