Normally, I'm not this grumpy but this thread made me think "your own-- personal-- Google" to the beat of Personal Jesus by Depeche Mode.... anyone else?
I've been feeling that way for weeks with no change in cervix. The only difference now is it feels like she's clawing at my cervix. Going to see what's up with that at my next appt.
It felt like someone was stabbing me with an ice pick! I told my doctor and they checked it out. My baby is also low and his head was hitting a nerve that was causing it. Could be what you're experiencing, but your doctor would know best.
Some of these have happened at work & take my breath away- scares the crap out of my coworker. I laugh a little because she is convinced that with every pain & BH contraction i'm suddenly going to go into wild, active labor & deliver right there in the office. They are totally painful but it's also fun to watch her reaction.
I'm 33weeks 2nd pregnancy and my belly is SO low and I'm pretty sure she has dropped but every so often I get sharp pinching pains In my cervix is that the start of effacing and dialating ?

Thanks crick for saving the day! I logged in and saw a period and thought to myself, "Holy shit! A DD?! Haven't had one of those in ages!"
OP, seriously. If your belly is "SO low" then yep, kid could maybe possibly be putting some pressure on your cervix which FYI is also "SO low". Does not mean you are effacing/dilating. Welcome to the fabulous world of carrying low.
@rlyttle there's a Bloody Mary festival I want to go to on September 28... I'm hoping I can be brave enough to leave my baby for a whole day that day... but I'm thinking as a FTM I'll wuss out
