Apologies for being MIA

    I wanted to apologize for being an absentee Bumpie for the past week or so.  I worked my last day on Sunday, so that's not my excuse.  I've been in prodromal labor for a week, and it's exhausting.  I don't feel like I've had much support to offer, because I haven't been sleeping well due to consistent 20 minute contractions, which are sometimes painful and sometimes just annoying. My OB seems to think that this might be because LO is occipital posterior, and my body is trying to help him turn around, but so far, no dice. We'll be at 37 weeks and considered full term tomorrow, so my doctor just prescribed me some Phenergan for my nausea and sleeplessness, and told me me to wait it out.  She said this could happen for up to a month before our baby is actually born.  On the bright side, she did schedule our induction for August 25th!  I am so excited to have a real date that we get to meet our baby boy!  I promise in thee weeks to come, I will offer more support than just "love its".  Thanks for reading, and happy baby growing to all my favorite Mamas!

I've heard that swimming and sitting on a labor ball can be great for repositioning baby. The swimming would have the added benefit of tiring you out so you might get a little sleep despite the contractions. ((hugs))

Ugh! Dd was in OP position too and I was in prodromal labor for four days. She was stubbornly born OP as well, the stinker. Do whatever makes you feel good. I spent a lot of time in my bathtub (but only when dh was home because I had a hard time getting out)!!

Thanks for the understanding and well wishes Ladies.  I spent my afternoon in the pool for my nephew's 8th birthday, and it was pretty nice!

My bestie's mom told me I can come over whenever I want to use their hot tub, too.  They have it turned down to 90 for the summer, so it's totally safe for our LO!

Ugh, I'm so sorry. I was in prodromal labor with DD for 4 days (contractions every 3-5 minutes at night, slowed down a little during the day) and it was excruciating. I hope that the meds help and baby gives you a break soon.

We actually ended up in L&D last night, because contractions got down to about 7 minutes apart for 3 hours.  As soon as we checked in, contractions died back to every 20 minutes, even though I had two while walking from the car to labor and delivery...  My baby hates the hospital, and I'm afraid we're going to have him at home because I'm never going to believe it's the real deal after last night!

No need for apologies. I am sorry your dealing with prodromal labor. T&P that it eases up some before he comes
