Chiropractor - my new bestest friend in the whole wide world :)

Preface - I have been dealing with severe back and hip pain going on about a month. I finally broke down at my last appt with OB and she suggested a massage and/or chiro. I had been doing stretches and walking but nothing was helping. The massage did nothing. I was in more pain after than before and I couldn't get comfortable the whole time. I have toughed it out for the last week and finally decided to go to the Chiro today.

So I just got back from my very first chiro treatment ever! OMG amazing. I already feel less pressure in my back and hips. The appt took less than 5 mins and it is crazy how much of a difference it is. He noticed that my hips were severely out of alignment and that it was most likely affecting my uturus and causing it to be tilted and twisted. He said that that treatments should move it all around and help open my hips us. So far LO has been breach since the beginning. She has never turned (yes I know this can be normal) and the only place I have ever felt her kick is straight down in the crotch. ouch btw. Anyways he said that now with the proper alignment she should be turning soon and I will be able to feel her when she does. :)

I know that this treatment won't be for everyone but I am so happy and I cannot wait to go again. The Chiro I picked is highly recommended in this area. He sees a lot of pregnant women around here and said he has even treated a woman that went 3+ weeks past her due date.

P.S. I texted DH as soon as I was done and told him I was leaving him for the chiro lol he just asked me if I needed anything from the grocery store before I go. lol

  • @flutterbuggie I was pretty nervous too. That's why I put it off. I couldn't stand the pain anymore though and my OB said it was ok. I seriously can't believe how much better I already feel after only going 1 time.

I go again on Thursday and he said that we will only do appts as long as I am having pain. He said that my body will determine the schedule.

  • A good chiro is worth their weight in gold.  No one can do what they do.

My new one is a saint and specializes in pregnancy.     :)   My first appt was an hour...  follow ups are all 30 mins. There is not a lot of the traditional "cracking" (maybe a minute or two).  The rest is pressure points and moving my body in all sorts of directions.  Really makes a difference.

Looking forward to starting the Webster technique this fall.  Hoping it helps with an easier birth.
