LH surge length

On average, are LH surge lengths consistently the same in most women? For example, last month (my first month using OPKs), my LH surge lasted +36 hours. Can I expect it to last this long every month, or can it vary a lot? I don't want to waste OPK sticks, and if my LH surge is usually this long I won't have to test twice a day.

I think it varies.  I tested in the morning this cycle and got a negative, I tested again at 3pm and it was +, the next morning back to negative.

Previous cycles I've had 2+ days (testing both in AM and PM). This current cycle it was only 1 day of both positive AM and PM and then the follow morning another positive...

This is me. I will get one + between 1 and 3 pm and that's the only one I will see

I'll have negative in the morning, positive in the evening, and negative the next morning.

I have had positives last one to three days.

Mine really varies.  It's been over in 12 hours and lasted as long as 4 days.
