LMP vs Measurements

I was wondering what I should go off of here. My Lp was June 2 making me about 8 weeks. When I had my first ultrasound a couple days ago they brought me down to 6 weeks. What am I really suppose to go off of, cause these weeks have been rough and the thought of being less along than what my lmp was makes a lump in my throat!

My MW shifts EDD if they off by more than a week between LMP and u/s. Good news is baby's going to come whatever the heck they feel like it regardless of our dates

Probably go off measurements of you weren't charting.

You probably ovulated late, nbd. In my opinion, using LMP is dumb because women aren't robots who ovulate exactly every 28 days. But, doctors have to use it because very few women track their BBTs.

Yep if there is more than a week difference then they change it. My date has been used for every pregnancy because I ovulate on day 21 or later

Measurements at this point really only have a day or two margin of error.  They are pretty accurate if done correctly, so I would go off that.  You probably ovulated late.

I know exactly when I ovulated so when my doctor asked for my LMP I just gave him a date 14 days prior to that to get an accurate due date, otherwise my due date would be several days sooner.  NBD at this point in pregnancy, but it can make a big difference at the end when you are at that 41/42 week threshold or in the 35-37 week range where every day in can make such a big difference.

The extra week is worth it at the end. You don't want them pushing an induction or section because they think you're 41-42 weeks when you're really only 39-40.

Ahh so overwhelmed so bare with me! This is my first pregnancy and I'm still getting use to terminology. What is charting?

I was tracking and know exactly when I ovulated and they still moved my due date back a week bc baby measured small. It was frustrating bc you feel like you have to re-do an entire week! at 20 weeks my dr said they measure again and adjust as necessary.
