Re: *** 3rd Tri Checkin - 7/30/2014 ***
Upcoming appointments? Every week! NST and BPP next Monday, regular OB Tuesday.
Any updates to share? Baby is still very small- on the last growth scan two weeks ago s/he was in the 10th percentile, and as of Monday s/he is in the 7th. I am very worried. I thought I was supposed to have the opposite problem with GD, but the doc says it isn't related to GD at all, or anything else I'm doing. DH and I are small people so we could just have an extra small baby- somehow that doesn't make me feel much better. The doctor mentioned inducing me possibly two weeks early, depending on the next growth scan in two weeks, so we may meet our LO sooner than expected. Not the birth I wanted or planned..... but of course I'll do everything I can to make sure s/he gets the best start at life possible.
Upcoming appointments? twice weekly NSTs and once weekly OB
Any updates to share? Girls are still doing great on their NSTs. Apparently my uterus is "irritable" - they see a lot of small contractions on the NSTs but nothing to worry about - I'm supposed to take it easy, stay hydrated, not let bladder get too full and of course the ever fun - pelvic rest. Big update is that DH and I are leaning toward a scheduled c/s. Twin A is vertex but B is breach/transverse. OB is willing to let me labor and then try to flip B around but a lot of complications, especially for twin B possible that way, and a good chance I could end up with a c/s for B even if A makes it out vaginally. He said by doing a c/s I'm taking more of the risk on for myself and there is less risk for the babies - that sounds fine to me - especially as a lot of the risks of c/s are for subsequent pregnancies and we will most likely not be having any of those. Also the pumping class was pretty helpful - I am now less intimidated by the pump. I also had a good meeting with our potential nanny and I am very hopeful that is going to work out.
How are you feeling? OK. Pretty tired. Apparently I have symphysis pubis dysfunction (joint holding pelvis together in front is loosening) and it was excruciating last week, had to take narcotic pain meds per my OB, but for whatever reason pain has now let up (even off meds) and is manageable.
QOTW: Do you plan to have a night nurse, a cleaning service, or other paid help after the LO(s) come(s)? We have a weekly cleaning service that we are definitely keeping. I find it worth every penny. Depending on how hard things are, I would consider looking into a post partum doula or a night nurse, but I'm guessing it would be prohibitively expensive.
Upcoming appointments? I have weekly OBs now, so next Tuesday!
Any updates to share? As of yesterday I am not dilated, but I am half thinned out (50% effaced) and the baby has officially turned head down - in fact, her head was, "very, very low".
How are you feeling? I feel fine. At the moment LO is both pushing on my stomach with her legs and it feels like clawing to get out at the other end. It is a really weird sensation.
QOTW: Do you plan to have a night nurse, a cleaning service, or other paid help after the LO(s) come(s)? hahahahahaha. I wish. I will have some unpaid help though from my mom. After DH returns to work (he gets a week of paternity) my mom is going to come over during the day to help around the house and watch LO while I get some (probably) much needed sleep!
4 rounds of clomid, 2 with IUI = BFN
QOTD: no plans for paid help as of now. DH is taking 3 weeks of bonding leave, MIL lives 2blocks away and will take some time off, my mom is fairly close as well. I might explore a cleaning person once I go back to work.
12/2011: Finished chemo
5/2013: Cleared for DE IVF
11/13: DEgg IVF#1
8/5/14: Grace was born!
I am 32w 2d today.
I have a doctor's appointment tomorrow, just my regular biweekly appointment.
Nothing new to report here. Having trouble sleeping because it takes me forever to get comfortable and dealing with awful heartburn.
QOTW: Do you plan to have a night nurse, a cleaning service, or other paid help after the LO(s) come(s)? We aren't planning for any of this right now. DH wants to get our carpets professionally cleaned before LO arrives but we aren't planning on any help. Both sets of parents live up north in different states (we live in FL), so they are planning to come down for a week or so but otherwise its just us.
I hope you all have a great week!

It still feels unreal that this is really happening after 5 years of waiting!

Upcoming appointments? A cervical check next week, then on to NSTs!
Any updates to share? Nothing too big. My mom and sister were having a lot of fun watching my belly jump all over the place last weekend.
How are you feeling? Pretty good still. I've hit the point where I'm getting up at least once a night to pee and I hate it!
QOTW: Do you plan to have a night nurse, a cleaning service, or other paid help after the LO(s) come(s)? Nope, but we are all hands on deck! ILs live 30 minutes away and will be around all the time. Once we figure out how much time DH is going to take off, my mom is going to take a week off his first week back to come stay with us. I'm sure she will be down on the weekends too since she is only 1.5 hours away.
How far along are you? I'm 37w 1 day
Upcoming appointments? Just had an appointment yesterday, so seeing the OB weekly. Cervix still thick and baby isn't moving anytime soon.
Any updates to share? Nothing really, ready to get this show on the road!
How are you feeling? I'm feeling pretty good, although the swelling in my feet has gotten a lot worse. I had to go into the office this week (I normally work from home) and made the mistake of wearing shoes. My feet were so swollen at the end of the day i had to push down the back of the heel and wear my flats as '"slipper". I'll be wearing my roomy and still work appropriate sandals tomorrow.
QOTW: Do you plan to have a night nurse, a cleaning service, or other paid help after the LO(s) come(s)? We are planning on having the house cleaned about a week before the baby is born. Depending on how we feel, we may have them come out biweekly.
My next check up is later today. I'm actually at the hospital labor & delivery now. My dog accidentally jumped on my belly when I got into bed tonight. Doc wanted me to get checked out. Baby is doing great, but I'm being monitored for a few hours anyway. Better safe than sorry. I am so relieved to hear his stable heart beat.
QOTW: We don't plan on any paid help after LO comes. Except daycare when I go back to work. My MIL is coming up from Florida for a month after baby is born to help.
@marnief - wearing your wedding tiara! lol, that's great!
@1983lindsey - I had something similar a couple weeks ago. The first one stopped me in my tracks when I was out for a walk and took my breath away. Next day happened on and off throughout the day. Dr said it's totally normal. I"m not worried if he's not.
How far along are you? 35w6d
Upcoming appointments? weekly NST and appointments now until LO arrives!
Any updates to share? First NST was today and it went really well. He was moving around like crazy which made me feel better.
How are you feeling? Still irritable, it's a good thing no one's talked to me much today. Getting up 2x a night to pee. Also I've found I actually am more comfortable sleeping without a pillow between my knees or under my belly. Weird. I'm glad I didn't go buy a body pillow. Other than laying down, I can't seem to be comfortable. I sit for a while and want to stand and then after standing I want to sit. Repeat.
QOTW: Do you plan to have a night nurse, a cleaning service, or other paid help after the LO(s) come(s)? No paid help, both MILs don't leave near us and we only have 1 extra room so we're trying to figure out which one is coming when to help out. And there's a couple other family friends that have said they'll stop by and help with whatever so that will be nice.
TTC on and off since 2005
July 2012: Infertility tests started at OB/Gyn, HSG and HSN all clear
Sept 2012: IUI #1 w/Clomid - BFN

1 little bean!
Upcoming appointments?
Internal exam with OB on Tuesday, u/s to monitor growth and first NST on Wednesday
I keep hearing from OB baby is measuring a bit on the big side. Just hoping she stays at a reasonable weight. I don't want to be induced early or to have a c-section, though I'll obv. do what it takes to bring home a healthy baby.
Not sleeping well thanks to indigestion and a really annoying and persistent pain in my mid back. But I know that's to be expected, so rolling with it and just loving feeling all of LO's movements.
QOTW: Do you plan to have a night nurse, a cleaning service, or other paid help after the LO(s) come(s)?

How far? 40 weeks!
Update: So, baby was frank breech at 28w u/s and my practice doesn't do anymore u/s after that. As time went on, by 36w, my OB was sure that baby flipped based on external exam, and more recently, cervix checks. I continued to worry though. I just felt like the spot right under my ribs was the perfect hard round shape - like a head. And the nurse kept finding the heartbeat up near my belly button. But they shrugged off my concerns and convinced me that the round spot was his feet. Then Thursday at the 39w4d appt, again high heartbeat and this time (thankfully) my belly finally did one of those crazy contortions where my little bowling ball shape was incredibly obvious from the outside. This is what I kept experiencing at home and told them about. I just said, look look, and the OB felt immediately and said, ok we'll do an u/s just to be sure. Finally! Two minutes later, she put the wand on me and instantly said, yep! She turned the screen and there he was, skull right under my ribs... a few days before my due date. I immediately started balling and felt so upset that I didn't do more to confirm it and demand an u/s earlier. I would've tried things like spinning babies and maybe an ECV. But to find out so late is very hard for me. The OB said there's hardly a chance any of that would work now - he's just too big and I would likely go into labor with a breech & need an emergency c/s. They tried to convince me to do the c section on Friday but it was late in the day Thursday and I just couldn't do it - I needed more time to resolve my feelings. So, I'm scheduled for Monday at 9a. Believe me, I know that a c/s isn't the end of the world. Just that we're healthy is all that matters. And I am excited to see my baby so so much! And I know the likelihood of the same outcome is high even if I had known earlier. I just wish that I had advocated better for myself. Trust your gut ladies & don't be timid about asking for what you want!
I'm a bit scared of the surgery and I'm hoping I can just pull the same mental strength together that got me through all of the IVF procedures. DH & my mom have been a huge source of encouragement & I'm mostly cheered up. Just ready to get off this roller coaster & focus on nothing but my LO.
09/12-11/13: 3 TIs, 3 IUIs, ICSI/PGS IVF & 2 FETs
