... just curious if anyone else is still using a boppy or nursing pillow? Lillie is 24+ lbs and I'm sill using it which seems ridiculous. Laying her across it is a workout in itself but trying to nurse without it is a wrestling match, too. She's so wiggly and fidgety while she's nursing that if I cradle her in my arms then I don't have my hands free to restrain her. I need to have my hands to stop her from smacking me in the face, pulling my hair, scratching my neck... the list goes on! This stage is so awkward!

Classic Boppy and a cheapo flat pillow under it. I switch the flat pillow under her head to lift her a little higher. It works pretty well for us. She will eat without it if we are out and about, but it goes much better if she's propped up.
I give her extra pacifiers or a doll to keep her hands occupied. She really seems to need something to do with them while eating. If she doesn't have them in her hands, she's pinching my arm or side, reaching for hair, ears, nose, glasses, necklace, etc.
Knock on wood, she usually is happy to just be still and eat.
@andera0418 does Tyler have any top teeth? When Bettie got a top tooth is when the acrobatics became painful. I thought it couldn't get worse and then it did.
Yes he has 4 top teeth. He bit me a few times when they were coming in but now it's not painful.

Yeah the teeth are killing me. I nursed J till he was 15 months but his teeth never seemed to be an issue with us. I can't really find a comfortable position with L where her teeth are not grating on my skin. I feel like someone is slicing my boobs open every time!

I still use the boppy. I have to use one hand to hold my breast and the other to fight against her trying to pull as far back as she can. She pushes against me with her little elbow locked.
I do a lot of side lying at night or if we are in my room. It's easiest.
Yes, L pushes back against me too. It makes my nips hurt soooo bad. Nips are stretched and have teeth in contact with skin. She's trying to kill me.

We stopped using it maybe around 6ish months. I normally use the couch arm under my arm or curl up my knee under my arm when I am sitting up. When lying down I use a regular throw pillow under my elbow. I completely forgot about the boppy, but now I think I might want to try it again.
We never really used it, I could never get comfortable with it, but I still use a regular pillow folded over under my elbow if I'm sitting. I need to get a nursing necklace, my chest is scabbed from the pinching!
We pretty much weaned from the boppy, pump, and left boob all around the same time. And, I only nurse right when he wakes up and right when he goes to bed so he's sleepy for both and no acrobatics are involved, so no need for the boppy. If I was still nursing on the left side and nursing more often, I'd need the boppy. (Lefty was position weird...always hated nursing on that one....and with that said, righty is enourmous...)

Still nursing and Zack now brings me the pillow when he wants to nurse. It's pretty darn cute and I think he thinks it's awesome that he has control over when he wants to nurse. However, we go without the pillow sometimes too.
I haven't used a nursing pillow in months. I just noticed the MBF in the back of the closet this afternoon. I should probably go put it down in my donate pile. (
We quit using a pillow since around 4-5 months when he started being tall enough to 'sit' on my lap.... now he looks like a 3yo nursing.... side-eyes everywhere when I NIP but I don't care hehe

I hated it at first but once he got a bit bigger, around 2 months, it's all I've used.
I nurse morning, bedtime, MOTN, and on weekends after each nap. So it's 100% of the time in the glider in the nursery. We haven't NIP in months.
I find it gives me a sturdy base to lay him down on, even though his feet dangle and kick around. In the MOTN he passes out nursing and I just carry the whole thing, baby + pillow, to the crib, gently scoop him up and lay him down like a grenade.

Yeah we have pretty much weaned from the right boob. It was a dud for both kids and produced way less milk. She has to be in a really good mood to have the patience for it these days. Left boob is huge for me now. You and I should get together with our lopsided boobs and equal one normal person .

So last night I ditched the boppy and it helped so much with the nipple pain I had been having. I do miss the hands free aspect but now it doesn't feel like someone is slicing my nipples open every time she latches, so I'll take it. I think she was so big that she was weighing the boppy down and positioned too low to get a good latch. When she's in my lap her positioning is so much better to get a good latch. I'm amazed at how the change made an immediate improvement in my pain. Yay!

@hollandmama I swear every time I put him down after a MOTN feeding, as soon as I remove my hands from underneath him, ever so slowly, I back out of the room, shut the soon super silently and then exhale because I realize I've been holding my breath. Lol!
Still using my nursing pillow (Mombo). I like that it is firm on one side for nursing and soft on the other for cuddling a newborn. I even have a travel boppy I keep in our living room!
