Hello! I am a STM with a 6 year old DD. My DH and I are expecting baby girl number two in mid September, right around the 14th. I have been lurking here because I can't get enough baby talk and the other site I was frequenting sort of ruined their interface.
I like the vibe here. Not too much snark, lots of good support. I may chime in from time to time, if that is alright.
I am feeling pretty good. I am very sedentary, but have managed to keep my weight in check, hovering around a 20 lb gain. It matters for me because I had some extra weight to begin with from thyroid issues and pregnancy loss, and getting too heavy makes my back hurt... I have the usual aches and pains (oy my hips!) and some low BP, shortness of breath action, but all in all I feel good and am enjoying this pregnancy (well, since the morning sickness ended around 18 weeks... ugh).
I had my daughter at 40+3 following a natural induction using acupuncture (VERY effective for me!) and proceeded to have a 36 hour labor with a lot of injury, but a successful vaginal birth. Started at the birth center and transferred to the hospital for an epi and foley catheter dilation which helped immensely after 24 hours of hard, exhausting labor.
I am set up for a different birth center birth, this time, and looking forward to their facilities. It will be like giving birth in a spa! So pretty and new.
Took me a while to be ready for another baby and then it took 2 years to conceive, hence the 6 year age difference.
Sorry for the epic novel! I look forward to meeting you ladies!

word of warning: Some of these women will be great. Others will be horrible. I was ostracized when I talked about being depressed. But then another woman talked about being depressed & it was all hugs and kisses and well wishes for her! Wtf. So, when you post and some of them (or a lot of them, in my case) go bat shit crazy, just know that some of these women are like that.
Lately though, it's been pretty supportive in here.
@widgetsnm I'm sorry, calling some of our members "horrible" doesn't seem appropriate when welcoming someone new to our group. Yes, your first post was not the best example of our board. You were not 'ostracized' though. It was your very first post and it happened right after our board experienced some painful losses so some members took your post personally and said as much. The whole thing ended with you getting apologies from many members, myself included, for not speaking up after a bunch of drama had already gone down. You then intro'd, were welcomed, and have posted with support since. This board is VERY supportive... including some of the women that you would label 'horrible'.
Welcome!
