Tile Floors

We recently moved to FL and for the first time have tile floors everywhere.  Do you FL moms have any suggestions for what you use to put baby down so they can learn to crawl and sit on their own.  Tile seems hard to crash onto and we've always had carpet so it's never been an issue.
