omg I can breathe!!

So last night baby dropped down into my hips a bit and suddenly I could breathe! On the down side it feels like there is a bowling ball in my crotch.. I'm only 31 weeks 2 days. I don't remember dropping this early with my daughter. When did your LOs finally give you some air?

Re: omg I can breathe!!

  • Oh man I'm sorry ladies. Last time my daughter didn't drop until 36 weeks and I was dying

  • My little lady finally dropped this week too! She is not so low that I'm uncomfortable or feel as though I have a bowling ball between my legs but I finally have some much needed relief from all the stomach smushing and rib kicking that has been plaguing me the last few weeks. It's pretty amazing, I feel good again.
Everytime I ate I would get sick, even trying only little meals, so my apetite was pretty low, I hadn't even gained weight in the last three weeks.Luckily, at my last appointment I was still measuring on track, so my doctor said due to the baby being so high and me being so small (5'2'') I was probably just running out of room, but to keep trying to eat small meals to maintain growth.
I have a feeling now that she's dropped I'll pick up those 3lbs plus no problem!

  • DD2 dropped within the last few days as well...though I'm only 5'3 so she didn't have very far to go. My heartburn hasn't been as bad with this pregnancy though, and the only time she seems she's up under my ribs is when I first wake up, so that's been nice. I've definitely picked up more of a waddle though!  /:)

Yeah, i only had two days so far where he was in my ribs but think he dropped because I've felt pressure way low and no more rib kicking! Also, very very excited because transverse baby is now head down!
  • Lo dropped about a week & a half ago. I'm 32wks. Heart burn is still there though, which blows.
  • I've got a little bit of relief from the heartburn finally. It was getting so bad I could barely eat
  • I don't know if the babies have completely dropped, but they got a little lower a couple of weekends ago.  I could breathe a little more, but it felt like a boulder in my crotch and my belly was extremely tight, so I traded one discomfort for another and picked up a major waddle.  The good news is that both babies are now vertex, when Baby A was breech and Baby B was transverse.  If only they can stay that way until labor.

  • Last time, never. This time, a couple days ago. But it seems higher again today. :/

  • He didn't drop til I was in labour!

  • 30+1. A lot sooner than with my son.
  • @dal2aus‌ how far along are you? And are the babies boys girls? One of each? I'm genuinely curious. I'm sure it's highly uncomfortable carrying twins but for some reason I think the idea of twins is really awesome :)
  • She dropped down for about a week and now she has her butt right back up in my ribs. Regardless of her position, I've been congested for weeks which has caused breathing to be rather difficult.

I carry my babies low. I haven't had the pleasure of the shortness of breath. The continuous bladder and entire genital area abuse are fabulous though. This is also the biggest around I have ever been pregnant. The lovely H told me last night he almost can't reach all the way around the belly anymore. STFU. I have 9 weeks left!! :((
  • Last time I think I can classify as never. One baby was always up near my ribs and one was always down lower so I always had someone pushing up on my lungs. This Baby moves up and down so much. This morning he was pushing up on my lungs and now he's seemed to have dropped down.

  • This one has been a low-rider from the get go. So much pelvic pressure. I think he's leaning on my right hip too which is a very strange feeling for sure.

@kateronium, I'm 32 weeks and some change (check my ticker for real-tme) with 2 boys.  I'm excited to be this far along, let alone with 2.  This is my first time at this stage, so I have nothing to compare it to in terms of discomfort but I think some pains hit sooner than with a singleton.  For example, at 31 weeks, I was measuring 34 weeks and both babies were over 3 1/2 pounds a piece, so I'm carrying the weight of a full-term baby.  I shudder to think what it will feel like once I actually get to 37-38 weeks.
