I really don't want to buy the spatulas and mixers left on the wedding registration, and definitely cat afford the kitchen aid mixer. What is a good gift approximately 40-50 dollars that you would enjoy getting? I can't order anything online cause I'm so late on this one.

Don't discount the spatulas- some of my favorite gifts were collections of the odds and ends from my registry for my kitchen. Sometimes I would even get a surprise in there like a nice Williams Sonoma baking sheet or a cherry pitter or a collection of favorite recipes.
Another thing you could do is is give them an experience- is there something you could contribute to for their honeymoon? A night at their local movie theater? A concert they would both enjoy? A couples cooking or art class?
I know we love getting out and doing new things but don't always have the funds!
Get a gift card if you don't want to buy a smaller item and can't afford the larger ones. It's not that creative, but it's extremely useful for the bride and groom. They can use it towards the items on their registry that are more expensive that weren't purchased.
ETA: we got some "personalized" plates, picture frames, etc that was really not our style, and I ended up giving them away to goodwill. We also got some really great stuff that was not on the registry (like some really great tea cups from family living in Japan). Just make sure you know the taste of the bride/groom if you're going to go off the registry. But I reiterate that gift cards are always appreciated.
