creative wedding gifts help

I really don't want to buy the spatulas and mixers left on the wedding registration, and definitely cat afford the kitchen aid mixer. What is a good gift approximately 40-50 dollars that you would enjoy getting? I can't order anything online cause I'm so late on this one.

  • One thing I got for my shower that I LOVE is a Nora Fleming platter.  They have all different ones and they all have little holes in them in which you put a little holiday/event specific figurine (minis).  I've started collecting them and just love them!

  • I second the baking gear....look at the registry and see if there are different items that aren't on there....Silicone mats, bundt pans, loaf pans, odd shaped baking pans, spoonulas, extra flat baking sheets, cool kitchen tools that I wouldn't normally buy....those are the kinds of things I bought with gift cards we received.

  • It was for a housewarming but I made a cake, like a diaper cake. In the middle i rolled up a flexiable cutting board, pjt a package of spaghetti in it and put towels and oven mitt for the tiers. Put random utencils around it too....wish i had a pic. I kinda made it up but maybe google a pic
  • Depending on the couple, we like giving them a couple of board games.
  • My cousin got us something not on our registry but I love it! it's a personalized stone (sits on our porch) it says our last name and then at the bottom it says established... and has our wedding date.  It's super cute  You might be able to get this at like a keepsakes store.  It is very individualized and was hand painted.  but if you have somewhere that you does something like that, I thought it was a great gift and not expected.

  • nice dish towels from william sonoma
    or
a cooling rack for baking (i really want one is why)

both are in your $$ range, though not very creative. i LOVE my william sonoma dish towels though, and would never buy them for myself because they are so expensive. aka, my criteria for a good gift.

  • I second @missnacholover‌- I LOVE my Nora Fleming plate!
Don't discount the spatulas- some of my favorite gifts were collections of the odds and ends from my registry for my kitchen. Sometimes I would even get a surprise in there like a nice Williams Sonoma baking sheet or a cherry pitter or a collection of favorite recipes.
Another thing you could do is is give them an experience- is there something you could contribute to for their honeymoon? A night at their local movie theater? A concert they would both enjoy? A couples cooking or art class?
I know we love getting out and doing new things but don't always have the funds!

Get a gift card if you don't want to buy a smaller item and can't afford the larger ones.  It's not that creative, but it's extremely useful for the bride and groom.  They can use it towards the items on their registry that are more expensive that weren't purchased.

ETA: we got some "personalized" plates, picture frames, etc that was really not our style, and I ended up giving them away to goodwill.  We also got some really great stuff that was not on the registry (like some really great tea cups from family living in Japan).  Just make sure you know the taste of the bride/groom if you're going to go off the registry.  But I reiterate that gift cards are always appreciated.

  • if its a shower- get a gift card.  if its a wedding- give her money.

    N14 mommy to be :)

    My favorites: husband, chocolate.

  • We've gone to a local winery and put together a small gift box for them to open on their 1st, 2nd and 5th anniversaries.  The first year wine is a white, the second a red and the third an "expensive" red to age on the shelf - get staff recommendations and have them package it nicely for you. We just made little labels for each bottle on our own.  Our good friends just opened their 5th year bottle and called us to say thanks again!
