Trying to Get Pregnant

sorry - another question - anovulatory cycles?

Hey ladies,

I know there have been a shit ton of questions posed today, so I know all you knowledgeable ones have to be getting a work out. But I just have a question about a potential anovulatory cycle.

Necessary info:

- I'm on CD 34

- I have not yet experienced a thermal shift

- OPK's indicated peak fertility days both on CD15 and again on CD 23 (which I believed was perhaps a second surge of LH?)

- Haven't had sex with DH since CD 15 (he's been out of town)

- Last cycle I noticed a definate thermal shift, and LP lasted about 16 days.

- So far I've only noticed spotting.

My question is, anovulatory cycles, do those come and go? As in, sometimes you have them sometimes you dont? My first thought was that I've "only" been off BC for about 6 months, and my system was always a bit askew before than so the idea that it's still just getting back to "normal" is very possible. Second thought, I think my thermometer might be dying because it seems to be taking longer ot read my temp, (not trying to blame the thermometer, just trying to consider all possibilities.) I would have asked this question of TCYOF but I don't have my copy on me, and I value you're ladies opinion, knowledge and insight, so any thoughts are welcome.

Again I feel bad for all the questions you are getting asked today (heading over to try and help answer some if I can) so I thought I'd reward you fellow Sherlock lovers with a fun little gif. I have seriously been hooked on this show and have developed a healthy crush on Benedict Cumberbatch. Hope all of you ladies are doing well.

They are random. I don't think they're super common, but it's not anything to worry about. CD34 certainly isn't anything to worry about. CD60 and no signs of O, most people would call their doc. I have absurdly long cycles so that's NBD for me, but I understand starting to wonder about an anov. cycle if you're used to ovulating by CD20 or something.

ETA: I used wondfo OPKs so I'm not the one to ask about the digis. Just keep temping and waiting, for now. I'd only break out OPKs on days that I had fertile CM, when I was in 60/70 day cycles. But that was me.

  • Can you link your chart? Why do you think you aren't going to ovulate? Ovulating past CD 34 happens all the time.

I would really love to link my chart, but for whatever reason my stupid work computer never lets me (our system routes through another country before routing back). I'm not so sure that I won't ovulate, it's more that I've already started spotting and hadn't experienced a thermal shift yet. The spotting could be un-related sure, and I'm really not concerned the cycles are long. I just want to see if this is in fact going to be anovulatory, than should I be expecting more?

I have had a few cycles where I have o'd late. It can happen. I dont think you are quite out for ovulating this cycle yet

    My Ovulation Chart
  • Everyone is different. I'm my experience with irregular long cycles, I have some ovulatory and some anovulatory. This was/is caused by my hypothyroidism though. In june I had spotting around cycle day 31 and thought it was another anovulatory cycle but turned out I was having ovulation spotting (which I have never had before in my life). It's possible to have on and off anovulatory cycles and/or changes in your body you have not experienced yet. :) especially coming off bcp.
