December Birthdays

Mama's who are having big parties, when are you sending your invites out? Because he was born Dec 18th we are having his birthday party the first weekend of December. How early would you send out the invites to allow your guest to see if they are avalible to come?

I've been pondering this recently too.  I'll probably send invitations early November.  J was born on the 16th and I'm thinking of having the party on Sunday the 14th (or maybe even Sunday the 7th).

  • We will send invites out the first week November. LO was born the 8th and I wanted to have the party on the 7th but my in-laws decided to go away that weekend and told us not to have the party without them (I'm trying really hard to not be annoyed by this). I don't want to have it the weekend before because it's Thanksgiving weekend, and our anniversary weekend, so the party will likely be the 13th or 14th.

  • We are doing a BIG party this year because its LO's first and my oldest's 13th. So the girls are having a combined party so to speak. LO's is the 17th and ODD's is the 29th and with Christmas squarely between I explained to my oldest that me asking people to come out twice in the weather we have in a short amount of time is NOT an ideal situation. So she agreed to this plan. I am planning to send out regular invites and FB invite people starting the first week of November. I am having the party hopefully Dec 20th. OR Jan 3rd. Its so tough. I don't know when a good time to have it is. I don't want to close to Christmas and I don't want it so far away from one of the girls actual birthday's that it means nothing to for one of them. This is long and rambly sorry. Anyway I concur that early November is a good time to send out invites! :)

I would say early to mid November. We are having CCs party 12/28 so I'll send out late Nov or early Dec at the latest because of the 2 holidays.
  • We usually send out invitations 3-4 weeks before for DS1's birthday (early December) and we'll do the same for their combined party this year.

@Hncamp, that's when we're having LO's birthday too. I've already told the families.  We picked the date because DH's family xmas is the weekend before, and mine is the 27th.  Our families live in the same state, and we live about 14 hours away, so it has to be sometime while we're back.  We picked Sunday so that it wouldn't conflict with family or corporate Christmas parties, and everyone so far has said that they'll be there.  We'll probably send out invites a month in advance.

Luckily our only out of town guests are my in laws. CCs birthday is 12/27 but my H works Saturdays so we picked sun afternoon.

  • We will just have a party at the ILs. BILs birthday is the day before LOs so everyone will be there anyway. I don't have my family around anymore so its just the ILs.
