Vent - update in comments

Sorry...I had to.

I start work Wednesday.  I was going to take both DD and DS to daycare today.  It's DH's bday today so we were going to go to lunch with just us for the first time in over a year.  Then I was going to go clothes shopping since I have no work clothes that fit.  And tomorrow I was going to get a haircut and go to my OB appointment.  I have been looking forward to this for a month or so now!

So, DS has always been fussy and slept like crap.  But, it's only getting worse.  Last night was terrible!  He just started screaming and wouldn't stop.  Finally by swaddling him, giving him his paci, and bouncing on the exercise ball he would quiet (my back hurts!!!).  He slept from 10-1, which was heavenly.  Then he would not sleep except being held and bounced, and he screamed even most of the night then.  At 3 I told my bday boy DH that I couldn't do it anymore and he had to take DS.  So he took him from 3-6 when he had to get ready for work.  This morning is more of the same.  Scream until knocked out by the bouncing, then sleep until the next screaming session.  

I called the pedi and have an appointment at 1:15.  I've never hoped so much that the dr. finds something wrong with my kid.  I just want a solution, and I'm so afraid they'll say it's just colic or something like that and we'll have to deal with this more!  I don't know how I can take this kid to daycare and go to work.  I miss that I can't do anything for DH on his birthday.  I can't get clothes.  I constantly have to hold DS and he sounds miserable!  I hope we find a solution for this and it works quickly!  Now I have to figure out how to get clothes and if / when I can start DS at daycare and if / when I can start work.

Sorry you are having such a hard time. I hope your pedi finds a solution for you!

I'm so sorry.  I hope the dr. provides a solution for you.  Can you delay going to work a couple of days and still get your celebration and shopping in?

I think I might try to take the kids to daycare tomorrow (pending the doctors appointment) and do some quick shopping before my ob appointment. Then I plan to ask off for a long lunch on Friday at work to go out with hubby. Who knows about a haircut! I just dread taking a colicky baby to daycare! But he can't be the first they've had hopefully!

Sorry you have to go through this. Of all the things I read to help colic, chamomile tea wasn't a widespread recommendation, but I would try that (for both you and babe).

So sorry - that is all very suckarific. Hugs!!! Isn't it lovely that mat. leave in the US runs out right around when colic tends to peak? Blah!
