You can cut it into thin slices (like 5mm) and then boil it and make tea.

It's good in Thai coconut chicken soup or Thai hot and sour soup (tom kah or tom yum).

In Thailand they also cut it up finely and then put it in stir-fry or salad, but it has a pretty strong taste.

Also sometimes in Whole Foods and health food stores, you can find dried candied ginger, and that's pretty good but also has a strong taste.

  • Im going to try the tea! Maybe add some honey. Thanks

  • Or even just smell it if you get hit with a wave before you can get tea made.  I'm walking around with a bottle of ginger essential oil right now and screw off that lid and take a big whiff when I need it.  It's been working really great so far!

Smart ideas for using ginger!  Thanks!

I also enjoy the ginger people ginger chews when traveling, but haven't yet tried for morning sickness.

  • So tickers still aren't working huh?

  • Nope-- I've tried it half a dozen different ways with no luck.  I'm playing with it right now, but it doesn't look good.
