Have a question and probably just need talked down

After my appointment on Wednesday at 6 weeks 2 days, doc couldn't see anything in a external ultrasound. Had some blood work. My progesterone is at 11 and my hcg was 7700 ish. I got a prescription for progesterone. Yesterday morning I had some bright red spotting and went back to the doc yesterday. No active bleeding but he didn't do another ultrasound. Got my blood work back today and it is up to 10000.

Now I know that the jump is good in numbers, but I am worried about how low they are. Am I being crazy? Please feel free to tell me I am. Everything I have looked at in charts online seem to indicate that they are low. Bottom of the scale low.

I had a miscarriage in January and this is just stressing my out.

And I am at work and can't really respond right away. I am not trying to post and ignore responses.

I don't have any advice just tons of ((hugs)). Is your doctor concerned? If not then I wouldtry to trust in that. Also remember that every pregnancy and numbers very person to person. Just remember today you are pregnant and love your baby. PGAL is a tough road to travel.

Sorry your going thru this:( pgal is the worse ! At 6 wks betas can range from 1,000-10,000 they differ person to person and pregnancy to pregnancy. They usually don't see fetal pole or hb until greater than 10,000. This is according to my re. Did you see gestational sac and this early are you certain about dates? They told me even if you are off by day or two can make big difference in betas and u/s findings! Good luck! Wishing you a great pregnancy!

I believe it's hard to see anything transabdominally on US that early.

Due to having a late ovulation I had a very early scan, transvaginal at 5wks and got to see a gestational sac. A heartbeat was confirmed at 6w3d - again transvaginal.

When is your next US? If you have any other problems or issues I would demand a transvaginal US. Also watch for abnormal symptoms, it really bothers me they didn't do transvag, ectopic would be on my radar.

I'm sorry for all the worry! I hope the spotting stops soon if it hasn't already. Your numbers seem fine and I agree with PP that if doc isn't worried, then try not to worry yourself.

I'm frankly surprised your OB tried the external and not a t/v u/s though. Did he/she mention next steps for you? Will you have a follow up u/s in a week or two for example? Or check your progesterone again?

I honestly don't know why your doctor even bothered with the external u/s that early. You really need a transvaginal to see anything that early. My doctor doesn't even attempt external until after 12w. Your numbers look good, though. They seem to be rising like they should for that high. Are you still spotting? Do you have a follow up u/s scheduled? I would definitely request a t/v next time so you can get a clear answer of what's going on.

I have yo go back Monday for more blood work. I really thought I was further along rather than later due to when we had had sex, and how early I tested positive.

I think part of the problem is my doc doesn't seem the most positive person. He didn't say he didn't like the numbers but was more "there ok" which I think is part of why I feel like this.

Probably not quite week or so. My LMP started 6-2, I am not positive but I think I ovulated early around the 13th or 14th.

By LMP you're exactly on textbook track. If you did ovulate those days it would have been on cd12/13, again pretty dang close to textbook perfect of day14. Not sure why you'd think you'd be any further along.

Ok I guess I was just over thinking it in the past I had ovulated much later. Sorry to be confusing.

I agree with PPs. Not sure why a doc would try external u/s.... is he very new at this? At 10 weeks I got a t/v u/s with twins, so I would expect my ute to pop up sooner since it will be more full, and they didnt try external....

Betas can really be all over the place from person to person. I know how hard it is at this stage because all you can really do it wait and see. Hoping everything is okay for you! ((hugs))
