My girlfriend and I have been TTC for two years. We have done multiple (upwards of six) IUI attempts with donor sperm at our fertility doctors office. Mafter surgery to ensure my uterus and everything were healthy, I had two failed

Omg I hate technology. I tried to edit this to fix my accidentally saving it before I was done and then I lost that huge edit when I was almost done!!! I give up. But to make a long story short, all the ovulation calendars are saying I should be ovulating like now, but the OPK (advanced clearblue easy) is still showing a flashing smiley. (This is my third day with a flashing smiley) and I'm stressing because our donor sperm was shipped on weds the 16th and is only good until this coming weds the 23rd, and I'm getting nervous that I won't get my solid smiley until it's too late. What are your experiences with this OPK and its accuracy? Should I definitely wait until we get a solid smiley??

Welcome!  I agree with you on the technology - I too have lost long edits.

That said, a lot of women have come here complaining about the flashy smileys.  A good number recommended Wondfo to me and I really like them. Super cheap dip strips from Amazon.  I tried the Target brand and never saw a + but the Wondfos have given me a very clear +

Another that said... I do only see one + per cycle. Apparently I have a very short LH surge and have to test twice a day.  The test line will be pretty faint and then super dark, usually around 3 PM, then back to faint.  I realize this won't help you right now but it's something to keep in mind.

What is wondfo? Where do you get it?

Never mind, I looked it up and see you can only get it on Amazon.... Well fingers crossed the stars align and we can do it successfully this time, but I'll definitely try something different if we aren't successful this month

I'm sorry, I wish I could think of something to help you out this cycle but as others have said, I only have recommendations for next cycle. I just bought the wondfo OPKs off Amazon last cycle and they worked wonders for me. I loved being able to see the progression. The line slowly darkened over a three day period. After it was positive, it went negative and stayed negative. I confirmed that I ovulated the day after the positive OPK using my basal body temp and fertility friend. It doesn't work the same for all women though for me, it was so easy and so much less stressful. Anyway, I hope all this information here is for naught and you get your BFP this cycle! Fingers crossed for you!

ETA: I know a lot of the insemination kits don't come with a lubricant for the speculum. A lot of us use Preseed. It is a sperm friendly lubricant.

Hey we did at home insemination in June and were successful right away. We used the clear blue fertility monitor. I used it for a few months prior to trying so the monitor would learn me and predict more accurately. It's expensive but I've heard of quite a few women that had success with it.

The only other "weird" thing we did was take mucinex the day before and day of insemination to help thin the cm a bit.

Thanks Boston.... Glad to hear you had success with it.... Did you use the advanced reader or just the regular clear blue? I've convinced myself I've missed my ovulation for whatever reason this cycle so I think I'm going to test one more time and if I get another blinking smiley were just going to do it and then start over next month using the regular clearblue easy
