MOTN

I have no idea what is going on in this house. DD went down at 7:30 like usual (after not napping much today) and has been up at 8:30, 9:30, 10:15, and 12:30. She has never done this before. She wants the boob and has done some good sucking every time.

I'm exhausted already. We have to go to her GI specialist appointment at 1pm and I'm glad that I'm not driving because it's an hour away - I'll try to sleep then!

Any ideas what this might be about? Anyone else up?

Re: MOTN

  • No ideas, we have been waking just about every hour for a day or so. Sleep has gotten progressively worse since 3 months and finally broke down and put him in crib in his room for the first night tonight. He will be 6 months on the 28. He's never been a self soother and I'm hoping the zipadee zip which we started today too helps him learn. I am resisting the urge to sleep on his floor tonight.
  • Any signs of teeth? We had about 4 or 5 nights of crazy wakeups like that when he got his first teeth.

Good luck! I hope the zipadee zip is a good transition to self soothing.

Hmm that could be it. She has been wanting something in her mouth all of the time the last couple of days. I feel her gums fairly regularly but I'm not sure if I would notice anything before a tooth actually pops or not.

  • Up for the second time tonight. Which isn't too unusual but she has been going days dropping the 1am feeding then needs it again. She also pooped three times in a row today. Which is unusual. So now I'm confused on whether this is a teething symptom, she doesn't feel well, or something she ate. Yesterday was also the first day she didn't spit up after every meal since upping her Zantac last Thursday. Babies- mysterious little creatures! She has her 6 month appointment Monday. (She is 6 months on the 18th). I know the doc is going to try to tell me to wean her from night feedings (I have a list of what is talked about and which shots she gets at her wellness visits). I just like to follow her lead. I can't possibly feed her more during the day, she eats every two hours still as it is!

  • I wasn't expecting BZ to wake up last night, so I had *ahem* 3 glasses of wine. Then he woke up at 1:30, likely with teething pain, and refused to be rocked to sleep. Not enough time had passed since I finished drinking, but fortunately, I had a bottle in the fridge. I actually always do when I have more than 2 drinks. But now I'm up pumping to replace that bottle. Yay fun.
  • We have been up every 30 minutes to an hour all night long. Her first 2 teeth popped Monday and she was super fussy yesterday so I'm not really surprised. Hopefully she will feel better today.

@km_md‌ we had a couple of months of this type of sleep so I started feeding her more often during the day. She went down to 1-2 wake ups MOTN and then her teeth popped. I think it was a combination of teething and not getting enough calories during the day. I hope your LO sleeps better tonight.

Sounds like a lot of teething going on around here! DD was up at 8:30, 9:30, 10:15, 12:25, 3, 4:15, and has now been up since 5:20. She didn't even get up that many times when she was first born. I think teething seems likely. Nothing else has changed (other than mommy having a big assignment due on Friday that she needs to concentrate for). She wasn't crying in pain like she does with her reflux, and she has been chewing on everything in sight. Hopefully the tooth/teeth pop soon for everyone!

  • Dd woke up at 530 for a feed and normally goes back down easy after eating. Not today. Still rocking her, she needs more sleep.
    BFP #1 (7/13/12) MC (8/14) 9 weeks. D & C 8/17.
BFP #2 (5/18/13) due 1/26/14. Grow baby grow!
    Its a surprise! Team green!

  • This is the first night in a while that DD woke up and stayed up. Her cry was different than usual so I believe it's teething pains. She didn't want to be nursed or carried in a certain position so I just walked around the living room and watched House until she felt drowsy.

  • The last two nights have really sucked in this household.  This morning I figured out why - DD has all four of her top teeth cutting through at the same time!  FML!
