Recommend your splash table or pool

I want to buy a splash table or really cool pool for DS. He loves water and the hose but won't just sit in the tiny baby pool we got him. I think he's love a splash table but I know someone (I forget who now) posted pictures of an incredible toddler pool on ig. I don't want to spend a ton since who knows how long he'll play with it but want to get something pretty engaging. Thanks!

  • I don't know if you have a Big Lots near you but I got DD's water table there super cheap. It was easy to put together too! I usually put it inside of her baby pool to keep her entertained.

Also, have you thought about one of those slip and slides that has the water spouts that squirt out? That may be more fun for him.

  • We got this one at Aldi, it's pretty fun, the "toys" are pretty boring even for him but he does his own thing so he enjoys it! It's a Little Tykes.

My sister bought him a pool, it's this one from Wal-Mart. But I think I'm going to return it and get a hard kiddie pool. I hear the inflatable ones like the one she bought us are difficult to clean because it is just large enough that it is a pain to empty and refill for each use and the bottom liner is super thin. So I think I'm just going to exchange it and hope she doesn't mind.

    Henry Cavill...You're welcome!

I'm not sure I did the link correctly, but we got DS the Melissa and Doug Grub Scout Sprinkler, and he loves it so much more than the water table.  You can set it to spray really high or just be a little spout.  He takes the toys from the water table and fills them at the sprinkler then dances around pouring the water out.  I did pick up a cheap inflatable pool that we have on our deck, and I keep a fitted sheet over the top, so it keeps the bugs and leaves out when we aren't using it.  That way I only have to refill it once a week (I worry about diseases in stagnant water).

  • DS loves his water table. They actually have Step2 stuff on Zulily. There are water tables on there for as low as $30.

I also add a few extra kitchen items of my own for DS to play with in the water table, like measuring cups and tupperware. He loves just dumping the water in and out of those kinds of things.

We have this Step 2 sand and water table. Only once did we try sand and water, because DS mixed them and it was a big mess. Now we do just water, or just sand.

He loves splashing around and using the toys to dump the water out of the table.

ETA: We are in the city with very limited outdoor space. This is his only outside toy for our patio so we felt comfortable spending $50 on it.
