At what age do you think baby should be on a nap schedule? We have a bedtime routine but during the day it is pretty much whatever she wants to do, should I be sticking to more of a schedule? She is 11 weeks old.
I don't have a schedule, more just whenever he wakes up, he needs to be put back down after 90 mins or else I have an overtired baby I like to call "Cranks McGee". ) If he takes a cat nap, then it's sooner. LO is 10 weeks. I go to Troublesome Tots whenever I have a question about sleeping.
Same as us above. We're on about a 15 minute eat, max an hour play then half hour to hour sleep. About 2 hours. I get maybe a 2 hour nap in the AM or if I am out and about. But he eats every 2 hours usually.
Whatever time this falls on each day is whatever time.
I'm slowly learning though the difference between tired and I need a new activity.
How long do you count as a nap? If they sleep for 30 minutes do you count that as a nap and start over? Are naps always in their crib or do you do swing etc

Yep. 30 minutes is a nap. 2 hours is a nap. Then repeat. Eat. Play. Sleep. Its made a huge difference in DS and I just follow his cues. Some times he plays up to an hour, sometimes its 15 minutes. I just follow him.
He sleeps on me in a sling during the day. But now that he naps well I don't mind. I'll work on putting him down to sleep at some point, but with things going well I'm going with it.
DD1 didn't have a nap schedule until she dropped down to 1 nap a day at 15months. I always went by the baby. At this age it was stay awake for 1-1.5hours then nap anywhere from 20min-2hours, repeat.
