Which club do you belong to?

Just curious…

Are you a member of the "drink 'till it's pink" club or the "abstaining from booze now" club?  Do you have a reason why?

Currently I am a member of the "drink 'till it's pink" club.  My husband thinks I should join the "abstain after ovulation days" club.

I have two bottles of wine in the fridge to enjoy while my husband is at a conference.  I plan on testing tomorrow and Thursday (assuming no AF or double lines before then.)  Drink til it's pink.

ETA:  Oh lawdy, this rose moscato is divine.  DH chose well.

Yep!  That's what I told him.  

I enjoy my nightly wine and will continue to do so until I'm KU or my doc says to stop.

I don't drink often these days but I tend to abstain after confirming O. I decide on a case by case basis, though. Some friends and I try to get together once a month for drinks and I like to have a drink or two with them.

I'm in the drink till it's pink club!  I don't drink too much though but if I did, I would probably just tone it down during the TWW but never completely abstain until a BFP.

Drink til it's pink. That was the doctor's advice and I like drinking, so why fight it.

I rarely drink anymore maybe a beer or drink a month these days. Will continue to do that until it's pink!

I'm drinking until I have conformation I'm pregnant. That said, if I was planning on really tying one on, I might do it closer to the ovulation date than later in the 2 week wait.

This is me.

I once read a study, done in Europe of course, that showed an increased rate of learning in the children of moms who drank in absolute moderation during pregnancy. The theory was that the more relaxed mom is, lower BP, stress hormones etc., the happier the baby. Don't know about the control v test and it was years ago that I read it but I go with it! I did have wine during 2nd and 3rd and DD is perfectly healthy and writing her name at 3 yrs old so that's my story and I'm sticking to it

I'm not a big booze drinker in general, but Drink-Until-Pink. If your husband wants you to abstain then I think he should too. TTC is a couple's activity after all.

My girlfriends OB told her when she was 1 week past her due date, "go home, have a hot bath and big glass of red wine, and I'll most likely see you tomorrow"

Sure enough, about 3 hours later her water broke.

Drink till it's pink! I can barely have protein so alcohol is all I have left.

Also am in the occasional drink camp in 2nd and 3rd tri!

I don't care if a pregnant woman has some wine or whatever. The smell of any alcohol made me incredibly sick during all of my pregnancies. So, more power to those that can do it. I couldn't even look at a wine bottle. @-)

From experience, the drink to its pink club has an added benefit. When you do get pregnant and stop drinking, you lose weight from the deletion of all the alcohol calories!

Drink till it's pink, I can't give up wine yet! I will once I get a BFP and then talk with DH about having a glass in 2nd and 3rd tri.

I don't drink anymore, except for very special occassions. I quit smoking in January and quit drinking too, since for me it went hand in hand. I've had maybe a drink in the last two months. I don't judge though, because my reason is more complicated than just a drink till a pink thing. I would drink more, so go have a drink for me ladies...

Drink til it's pink...but my normal weekly alcohol consumption is about a half a bottle of wine...so even once it's pink i'll probably just take that down to one glass/week and call it a day.  you have to REALLY REALLY DRINK to give your kid FAS.  My ob/gyn friend says you have to basically be a functioning alcoholic for that to happen.  It is possible, though pretty unlikely, for you to lose a pregnancy before you've tested due to drinking.  Again, you'd have to be REALLY REALLY DRUNK for this to happen.  i just don't get that drunk anymore, ever.  So i'm not terribly worried about it.

Drink till it's pink!  I got pg w/ DD right before Christmas and celebrating the holidays until I got my BFP.  Today she's a bright, funny, happy & healthy soon-to-be 3 year old!

I am SOOO glad I read through this post! My brother's wedding is Saturday and I think I am currently 9 DPO so I've been concerned about if I should or shouldn't.

To date I've definitely been drink till its pink, but have felt guiltly about that choice.

Saturday would be 14 DPO so technically I could test that day. AF isn't expected to make an appearance until early next week. Trying to decide if I should HPT before wedding or wait to see if AF arrives...thoughts?

I'm currently in the "I drank so much at the end of school happy hour, I still have yet to drink more than one drink on any given day" club. It was a rough time. However, I highly recommend mango martinis to all!

I had never even heard of the term "drink till it's pink" until I I joined this board yesterday but I guess I'm part of that club. I remember drinking the night before I got my BFP last time (I didn't actually plan on testing the next day. I did it on a whim because my period was a day late and was always regular). I don't really drink much as it is these days anyway. I might have a few glasses of wine a week but rarely more than that.

Yeah, I'm all for drink till it's pink. CD 1 had me down yesterday so I had a whole bottle of wine to myself.

I'm abstaining.  I'm not much of a drinker anyways but abstaining makes me feel like I'm somehow in control.  I'm not expecting H to do the same though.
