How much has baby gained?

I'm curious how much your baby has gained in a month. I'm interested because Nola gained 3lbs in her first month. She was big at birth 9.10 and is now probably close to 14 lbs. She was 12.12 at her one month check-up, and is EBF. I know all babies are different and that my Dr. should be called if I am concerned.....just looking for comparisons.

Camden has gained about 2 lbs and is almost 6 weeks old.

Also, I'm so excited that you chose the name Nola!! My oldest is Nola! What's her middle name (I'm on mobile, so I can't see of it's in your siggy)?

Between his 1 week and 3w2d appointment he gained just under 1.5lbs. He's gaining an average of about 1.5oz a day which is a little quicker than average but nbd. I wouldn't be worried, like you said all babies are different ;)

B was 7 lb 1 oz at birth, lost a full pound in the first 4 days and was very slow to gain it back since he didn't want to eat. he was back to birth weight at 4 weeks and he is now 7 weeks and 9 lbs 4 oz. he gets weekly weight checks and gains an average of 10 ounces a week.

to all the mamas working to get LO back to birth weight don't worry! I thought B would never get there but as long as they are hungry and want to eat it will happen. if B can do it, they can do it! :)
  • Cooper was born at 7 14 and at his 5 week appointment he was 11 3 ... So 4 ish pounds in 5 weeks
I might be producing butter instead of milk
    All babies are different tho
If you are concerned I'm sure your caregiver would be happy to give LO another weight check :)
  • Charlie was 8#5 at birth and was 12# at five weeks. My pedi wasn't worried. I make little round babies, C was the same way. Now that she's two and incredibly active, she's growing up but slowimg way down on the weight gain.

    Married DH 7/30/11

    CSC arrived 5/7/12

    CHC arrived 6/2/14

  • DS was 7lbs 3oz when he was born and based on my home scale he was exactly 10lbs at 1 month. So basically 3 lbs. I thought my DD gained weight quickly but this guy has her beat! I also pump in the morning after feedings (most days to get my freezer stash going) and I tend to pump 6oz after he feeds - I would say he eats a lot!

    Married to DH 10.29.11

    DD born 1.26.13
    DS born 6.12.14
    #3 due 12.6.16

@MrsKipper‌, her middle name is Charlotte after my DH's late grandfather.

Thanks for the comparisons. People just keep commenting on how big she is, and it's starting to make me worried. Her Doctor wasn't concerned, and I know I shouldn't be. I have to rein my worry in sometimes.
  • DD has gained almost two pounds overall at six weeks. She has also gotten nearly three inches taller.

I'm not new. I just hate The Bump.

  • Creepy lurking but I have similar stats. DS was 9 lb 9 oz at birth and was 12 lb 15 oz at his one month appt (he was 5 weeks old though).

  • @ktcort13‌ we started to fortify his milk. formula and breast milk are 20 cal/oz and he wasn't gaining any weight eating that so we fortify his milk to 24 cal/oz. the way you do that depends on how you are feeding LO. I would talk to your pedi if you are concerned about the weight gain and think it might help. it has made a huge difference in Bennett and he would probably still be shriveled up with a feeding tube if we didn't realize he needed more calories. some babies are good with the 20 calories and some babies just need a little extra :)
  • K was 7 pounds 5 oz at birth and when we left the hospital, he was 7. At his one month he was 9 lbs 13 oz. He has his two month tomorrow, so I'm anxious to see how much he weighs tomorrow.

  • We have a little piggy. He was 5 lbs 13 oz at birth. At 3 weeks he was up to 7 lb 12 oz. Now at 5 weeks I would bet he's up to 9. He had gained 12 oz in one week between 2 weeks and 3 weeks. His pedi was happy that he was eating and gaining so well.
  • Birth: 6lbs 6oz
    4 days: 6lbs 6oz
    1w 4d: 7lbs
1 month: 9lbs 6oz (weighed at home, so not as accurate)

DD is my little piggy, she eats fast and messy (just like her mommy).
  • 7 lb 11 oz at birth, 11 lb even at his 1 mth check up

  • 5#14oz at birth, 6#2oz at one week appt and 8#2oz at one month appt. Today (age 6w3d) he's 10#6oz. He's a boob man
  • Mumble was born at 4#2 and at one month weighed 5#10 I believe, so 1.5#.
Hugsy was born at 4#15 and at one month weighed 7#3, so 2.25# if I'm doing the math right.

  • Bobby was tiny when he was born and went down to 5.7 once we got home from the hospital. He didn't gain steadily until his 6 week check up where he gained a full pound in one week.  He's now just under 10lbs at 8wks. My Pedi says he's at the 24hr buffet and if he want to eat, let 'em eat! And to not be worried if he gains what seems like a lot quickly.  They don't usually overfeed.

  • Ella was 7lb5oz at birth and 6lb11oz when discharged. At the one week appt she was already back at 7lb8oz. At one month she was 9lb1oz. Weight wise she is at 50 percentile and 75 for length. She is wearing 3 mos clothes now since the nb clothes are all too short for her. I am glad that most of her nb clothes were used ones from friends.

DS was 7lbs14.6oz at birth (7lbs3oz when we were discharged) and 8lbs15oz at his one month check up which was 6 days after he turned a month.  However, he had weight gaining issues due to not nursing efficiently and his lowest weight was actually 6lbs15oz.

  • So happy to hear my fellow premi babies are gaining weight like crazy! !

    B is "chunky soup"

    Birth: 5 lb 9 Oz
    3 days: 5 lbs 5 Oz
Discharged from nicu 8 days: 5 lbs 7 oz
    2 weeks: 6 lbs 9 oz
    1 month: 8 lbs 7 oz
    2 months : 10 lbs 8 oz

Went from 17.5 inches to 23 inches in 2 months. Chunky soup! Mommy makes good milk. I lost too much weight too fast and effected my milk so I've gained some back and it helped us both.
